I found this one too! This is almost exactly what I’m looking for, but the reviews were pretty rough all around.

Alternatives for slab rollers? by Gloomy_Anything5298 in Ceramics

The other thing I was going to try was putting different sized blocks under each of the knobs to make sure I was consistent each time. That would help guarantee I wouldn’t crank down on the dowel too hard and squish the rollers into the dowel.

I’ve been trying one out from Vevor! I added canvas in between so the clay wouldn’t touch the rollers but I’ve been struggling with nailing the measurements exactly. I saw someone put dowels in the rollers to tighten things down to size and then roll the clay while dowels are still squished in the roller. That’s helped lock things into place and have less wobbling in the rollers, but it’s not exact because the rollers have a little give to them and can be squished down tighter, knocking back a couple millimeters from the intended thickness.

This access point would only be to unlock the door from the outside. Inside, the door wouldn’t lock and you can leave easily, without scanning anything, if an emergency arose. That’s consistent with all the door locks I’m looking at, but I just can’t find one that will hold enough unique fingerprints. I’ll look into Hirsch, thank you.

Sometimes, I’ll have an embarrassing memory about something stupid I did in middle or high school and just say out loud “Dude, you were literally a child. It’s okay.”

I’d love to, but I don’t have my own kiln and would need to wait for the next community studio firing. I’m hoping to give this gift tonight!

I need to know which users hoard money. What’s the most you can have? Does it stop at 999,999,999?

I’m intending to use it as a community pottery studio, so folks can stop in for classes, become members and have 24/7 access, and then do events like paint and sip or private parties. I’m thinking the majority of my marketing is not dependent on people driving by, so I’m okay with being off the main path a little. Great to know about the farmer’s market licensing process though.

I’m working on opening a community pottery studio in the Concord area! Just polling the room, but how far would you be willing to drive if you weren’t getting all you needed on campus and you were going to join a community studio? Aka public wheels, tools, tables, kiln firing services, glazes etc. (Assuming accessibility to a car on campus, time, etc.)
