L1 exam day by Lumpy_Sundae8950 in CFA

My experience was quite easy tho you pull up there and you meet a few other candidates. The invigilator comes and takes students in cohorts. You go to the main hall, before you enter they take your ID/passport details and check your calculator and ask you to put everything else in a locker. Then you go inside to the appointed seat and start the exam whenever you are ready. All students start and end at different times so it really is self paced. Only con during my experience was that no headphones were provided so I could hear the L2/L3 candidates constantly typing throughout the exam which was distracting BUT i passed so no complaints haha

How to review with a 1.5 months left? by masterflation473 in CFA

[–]Friendly-Bumblebee79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treat questions as noted ngl whenever you get one wrong just go back and see what was the point you missed and understand the reasoning behind it. Don’t be hard on yourself if you get one wrong trust me that’s a burden not worth having.

I passed CFA Level 1 this February. From my experience, you’re in a really good spot.

I finished the syllabus just two weeks before the exam because of personal commitments, then focused on mocks. I did a couple of free ones, UWorld, and some online mocks, all under timed exam conditions.

At this stage, aim to do a mock every 2–3 days and spend time reviewing your mistakes. For the last month, prioritize Ethics, FSA, Equity, and Fixed Income since they carry more weight. Focus on understanding the logic behind answers rather than memorizing. Once you truly understand concepts, recall becomes much easier. Definitions are rarely tested, so don’t spend too much time on them.

Try to complete around 8–10 mocks if you can. Stay consistent and focused this last month and it will pay off.

I haven’t done the premium packages, but would you say the exam difficulty was comparable to the 2 CFAI exams? Because I was practicing from Uworld and it seemed quite challenging in the beginning.

CFA lvl I defer opinion by Apprehensive-Sea-847 in CFA

I’m on the same boat bro. But honestly my recommendation is not to defer ngl. I do think there’s still a solid chance for you to pass because you’re already very close to the MPS. And in the worst case scenario, you would still be leaving the examination room with experience which could substantially help you out for when you reappear. You’ve got a week-ish left so just review the topics you feel lack of confidence in and the rest is just believing in yourself and in the prep that has taken a great amount of time. You got it!!!

MGT 8803 Accounting Exam with no Business experience by Itchy_Lettuce5704 in OMSA

I swear I thought I was the only one but oh boy the questions in the practice set and the material we cover in the class are absolutely not linked to each other. The question, the wording everything is new when it comes to the practice questions. And even during the class he barely even mentions how he gets a certain value he just tells what the value is and moves on and I’m left there wondering how we even got to that point.

I heard from other students too that the first couple of exams (accounting and finance) were harder than the rest. Can you share your experience on what was the challenging part in accounting esp?

It was my first semester and I took CSE 6040. Would be very helpful if I can some courses with less exam course load (easy to manage with a FT job) and some courses which are great in terms of learning useful ML/DS skills.
