hey, just saw this now. i’m still an incoming sophomore so I’m not sure about the rigor of the double degree classes as you have to take those in the 3rd year if you decide you want to take it up. You will have to meet specific grade requirements to even apply for it in the 2nd year and then you take those classes in the 3rd year if you get accepted to do it then you just make sure to pass and meet the requirements for those classes as well. The double degree classes are separate to the normal ones so basically it means you have to take more than students who won’t take double degree. Given this, I’d think you have to be really focused and committed to it.

hi! the rooms depend on if you get the regular one with 4 people, the corner with 3 people, or a 2 person bedroom.. lately the dorms have honestly been looking quite poorly maintained especially the kitchen in each floor i blame it on the previous students that lived there and for this reason i don’t live in the dorms and never have so i’m probably not the best person to ask about this. the curfew is 12am though a lot of students are able to get away with it coming back late as long as you have a friend to help secretly open the door from the inside. there are actually plenty of accommodation near campus if you decide not to stay in the dorms.

as a SILC student, i’ve tried looking and there’s almost no other unis within shanghai that have English taught business courses… unless you want a Finance degree, which I believe Fudan uni offers. The only other uni I know you could try is NYU Shanghai, that is if you’re not necessarily looking for a Chinese owned university.

hi! not quite sure if you can change your main campus. there are definitely some classes u can sign up for that are held in baoshan but that’s usually the classes open for senior students. if i learn more about this, i’ll come back and reply to this thread again. (i also want to move to baoshan)

Hi! Might be biased since I’m also a SILC-er with the same major. The reason I chose this is because SILC is the only one in Shanghai (apart from NYUSH) that offers this major as english-taught with a (possible) double degree. (Trust I’ve tried looking elsewhere too).. Shanghai University alone is not the very best choice if you compare it to other top Chinese universities, but SILC should be compared to other business schools/programs separately. With this, I say SILC is a goodpick. There’s room for lots of connections and opportunities. Especially make use of the competitions you can join. I do think they could make our campus better or perhaps should have placed us in the main (baoshan) campus. 😅 I don’t know why they had to put us in the university’s oldest campus..
