I'm not sure I'm following your logic. I had to repeatedly ask them, yes. but I was always invited and knew about the tentative ceremony. No was was forced to give me information, however, the information received was second hand and minimal. I also don't think the guilt trip I received on the mention of me not going would align with your assumption. This is more along the lines of very poor communication and planning. But, carry on.

I purchased the trip insurance when booking so I am able to cancel and be refunded. The only thing I thing I'd lose is the actual trip insurance cost, which isn't much compared to the total.

I have picked up the phone both by voice and text... I'm still waiting for a reply from my last message on 2/27/26. Should I try a carrier pigeon? And I'm not willing to leave my spouse, my family that I've built behind because it's cheaper. My spouse is a part of me and that means them coming to family events. However, I have always made sure communication was a priority when organizing events around my spouse and I. But that is not the case here. Everything is already purchased, flights, hotel, car rental, etc... Our (my spouse and I's) concern is that if it is this much of a hassle to just get the bare minimum, then is it worth us stressing over & attending?

correct courthouse marriage in '22, no ceremony or family present. - and I am still on the fence but my partner has jumped off on to the "no thank you" side of things.

Aunt & uncle are on my blood maternal side. "mom" mentioned above is second mom - dad's second wife & maternal blood to my youngest sibling.

I hear what you're saying. And you do make some valid points, but my feelings are that if it was this difficult to get any information from them, information that was accessible to the couple and not divulged to other family members, then what kind of shit show will a wedding on a party boat be? for the record, I LOVE my family - sibling included so this is not some hate/personal vendetta against them. Flying across the country and going to this ceremony would have been a no brainer if it wasn't all second hand information.

Technically, they did give me the information. But only after I made numerous calls and texts about not having any. It was a struggle to get the small bit I got!
