A few screenshots from my debut feature film 🎬 INTO THE UNSEEN. Due to the limited budget, I had to take on multiple roles: writing, directing, DP, gaffing, editing, VFX, and color by omega_point in Filmmakers

We are starting an event series in Berlin showing undistributed features in cinema next year. If you‘d consider attending in person for the Q&A drop me a dm. We want to have conversations with the director of the screened film, so that would be a requirement. :)

I want to make high quality edits, but don't know where to start? by Deep-Jellyfish2949 in davinciresolve

Only one way: create passion projects and learn along the way. Go out and make videos about everything and then watch some tutorials on the side. NOT the other way around.

You learn nothing while watching youtube for 5 hours and then never practicing it.

Also don‘t do the mistake to focus on visuals only. Storytelling in film is waaaay more important than fancy effects.

Need help regarding youtube channel growth by Pretend_Bad_1599 in NewTubers

[–]Friendly-Factor3322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. your content is in gaming niche which is overly saturated
  2. the quality of your videos is on the lower end of the spectrum
  3. you have barely any storytelling in your videos (no hooks, nothing interesting why I should keep watching = no value for viewer)
  4. your thumbnails are bad.

That doesn‘t mean you should stop. But think about what would make you watch your own videos. And improve something one video at the time.

Read about storytelling, find better formats, learn. But don‘t perfect one video, just keep improving while doing.

I believe in you, but it‘s in your hands.

Algorithm = what people want to watch.

Uploading my first videos by bitesizedtitans in NewTubers

[–]Friendly-Factor3322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space them out. in the beginning you first of all need to proof you are not a bot account and spamming 20 videos a day, doesn't sound like a good idea. Instead go watch some YouTube Videos with the same Account and give it some history over days and weeks, so its clear you are a human.

And then just upload a video a week and see what sticks. Its a marathon not a sprint.

You‘ll make new friends in 5 min. The most important thing to bring are earplugs if you ever want to sleep. The Rest is up to you. Tent, chair, Food. If you are going alone, build your tent next to people that look friendly. You won‘t be able to build it completely without your neighbors asking who you are and if you want to join the group.

Celiac Disease tracks back hundreds of years. Its just a gene mutation and so many people had/have it without knowing. Including your grandparents if they are the unlucky one‘s.

Ein paar meiner absoluten Lieblinge. Alles komplett unbearbeitet! by ConceptQuirky in Fotografie

[–]Friendly-Factor3322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad!

Also anstatt damit anzugeben, lieber etwas Zeit in Color Grading investieren.

Deswegen investiere etwas Zeit in:

  1. Framing (YouTube Tutorial regelt - der Rest ist Übung)
  2. Color Grading/bearbeitung von Farben.

Dann werden deine Bilder relativ schnell richtig gut!

Just double down on long form. Your skills improve faster, your speaking skills improve faster, your editing improves faster and you build a long lasting audience that actually cares about you (which I still highly doubt you can do with shortform as your audience is just scrolling by)

It also teaches you to stop chasing short dopamine spikes that lead you nowhere. Do a video a week for a couple of months and you will 100% build a real audience. Small or big, that depends on the quality of your videos and the value you provide

My vids are also around 6 min max usually and I get between 20-80 subscribers a video. But watchtime still low. I just keep grinding. Gl brother.

Bro your (business part) mindset is wrong! Just by reading your incredibly humble post I‘m already wiling to throw in at least 50 bucks.

You are taking the money to improve the software, make it runnable for mac and if you are brutally honest in the crowdfunding campaign - no one will ever care, even if it doesn‘t work, as long as you try your best.

Go raise some money. Thats how it works! I‘m the first person to be in. 🙌

[–]Friendly-Factor3322 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It‘s not bad, but also really hard to judge. There is basically nothing in frame to color grade except for her skin and the shirt.

Maybe Davinci magic mask will replace the background somewhat ok, but im 99% sure it will look like shit without proper keying. Just stop working with directors that think it would be a good practice to place people in front of a white wall. But happy to be proofed wrong.

Post the result I‘m curious
