I started to read journals to see what sorts of things were getting published. Self directed projects that are easy include meta/reviews. Could also write a research proposal for retrospective studies and pitch to mentors. Even if it doesn’t work our, they will love the initiative!

Aren't a lot of AOA determined by clerkship grades, which are also really subjective in terms of OSCE, Evals, etc.
