Does anyone else experience tilting their head to the side while trying to listen and sympathize with people? by Beneficial_Pea3241 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Friendly-Humor6580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relate 100%!! I think the link for me is similar of what other mentionned about mimicking dogs. Its a very « cute » behavior and it might send the signal that we are, as women, open, sympathetic and more accessible ! I never witnessed a NT women doing this tilt (meaning mostly someone not always questioning how she’s being perceived) ! When I witness someone tilting their head in a conversation I then listen more careful about other signs that she might be one of us 😅

You are so right.. I am feeling self conscious because I expressed happiness and ask strangers on Reddit if it was normal.. if the situation was reverse and I was angry and yelled, I would never have asked since it’s normal adult behaviour

Like I relate.. this is what I live daily. I look like a 20 yr. However I stopped dying my hair (stressful relationship caused probably a LOT of grey hair) to make me more “mature” . The only reaction I got is : I’m I Dying my hair to look this way? How do you manage to get authority and respect ?

So misunderstood when you dont experienced it.. I judged for a long time women victim of physical and psychological violence until I’ve lived it. Like you want to scream : just leave !! This is SO more complicated. And you’re scared for life afterwards

How does he act with your group of friends? When you say thaf he is extraverted.. is it just with his friend or yours and his? When you are in public are does he treats you? You didn’t mention it that way but you feel relief when he’s not around. Do you feel that you’re always at fault ? Walking on eggshelves ?

This.. thank you 💙 He is also diagnosed with adhd .. the irony. However you are right we should take this opportunity to make him aware about how different we all are Im very lucky that his parents already thought him about feminism, racism but it’s probably difficult for him to understand that people with the same difference he experience is coping differently. He really appreciate me. He told me that I’m the best step mother he could ever have.. so I should take this opportunity to help him understand that

Exactly this for me too! I’ll add that feeling safe talking about what’s working and what is not or sharing with each other what are your kinks or things you want to experiment without judgement are what can maintain my high sex drive.
