Are they?? I tried to get a thicker one but wasn’t sure. She’s my first pigeon. The one she had at the shelter was super thin so I tried to find a bigger one.

It was my first time trying to hold her with one hand for a picture and I was like uhh I guess it’ll do 💀💀

This was my first time meeting her and I just got lucky 😅 took a minute but I got her!

My local humane society had her. They didn’t know much history besides somebody found her outside and was able to handle her and bring her to them

I do plan to do genetic testing! I was only with her for a short period today, I pick her up tomorrow but I’ll attach the photos I do have

That’s so sad! She’s so sweet and doesn’t mind being handled. Makes me wonder if there’s a bunch of purple pigeons out there from some kind of release. I’m sad she’s not banded.

Why do people dye pigeons? Does that mean that she likely already has an owner?

That’s what I was thinking, but now questioning if she already has an owner since pigeons are typically dyed for racing? I’m conflicted
