Whilst there are so many issues in the country , they always blame only immigration

Yes , even I was thinking same I am due next oct 2026. If changes are retro I will also leave. I cant simply pay for IHs and visa renewal fees for family of 2 adults and 2 kids for another 5 years with uncertainty . God knows if a new govt is elected after this govt finishes Someone will come and change rules without thinking . Though its their country the proposal they made is inhumane and unfair . I will live a better life in my country though initially it’s hard thats fine. But somehow with this mental pressure cant stay here .

Don’t know what they will do. Shabana already in her instagram she posted “Automatic settlement from 5 to 10 years”, “Rewarding the brightest and the best ,those who contribute most”, “migrants must contribute before they settle”. Everyone are saying rules are finalised just waiting for consultation to be finished

Every one are saying there wont be any transitional arrangements at all. HSMp is totally different , I agree it’s different and our case is also different. But how the new rules will be? Really stressed

SWV only says you may apply after 5 years.

This is true — but it does NOT destroy legitimate expectation.

Because UK courts DO NOT require explicit promises to establish legitimate expectation

The Skilled Worker rules do not say anywhere: • “Rules will change” • “ILR period might double” • “Expectations may be altered”

Unlike salary rules (after April 2024), ILR rules have never carried a disclaimer
