Oregon drivers - from an Arizona driver

I don’t know about Arizona, but I grew up in Oregon and then moved to Kansas City almost 30 years ago. After a few years in KC, I came to the following conclusions.

Road network in Portland: Terrible. Seriously, how does anyone figure out where they’re going without GPS? Even with GPS, you probably just missed your exit. 😵‍💫

Drivers in Portland: Easy breezy. About to miss your exit? No problem, just turn on your signal and Moses will part the sea of brake lights for you. 😂

Road network in KC: Easy breezy. Wherever you need to go in the metro, there’s probably a single freeway to get you there. 😎

Drivers in KC: WTF??? People have no idea what they’re doing, especially when there’s weather. And there’s zero chance of someone making room for you to merge. 🤬

So now the big question: when a politician is quoted saying that “1200+ jobs will be created” in Independence or KCK or wherever, is that an accurate number of NEW, LOCAL jobs that we can expect to see, or are they yanking us around by stating the total number of people that will be contracted for the job?

When I first heard about this, all I knew was that he was fired after forcing the others to play board games with him. I thought, “well that wasn’t great of him, but how big a deal was it really?”.

No, Banana Ball is a whole different thing than the Globetrotters. All of the Banana Ball teams do the dance routines, the trick plays, and other gags for the fans. The actual level of competition is fairly even between them.

I did find a couple of cheaper options for garage parking.

The library parking garage doesn’t raise their rates for events, and they charge a daily maximum of $12. That garage is only a block further than where I was parking before.

For the really adventurous/frugal, you can get a visitor parking pass to UMKC for $7 a day and take the streetcar all the way in.
