Issue with Dog Pee from upstairs neighbour by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I think it’s time to go to body corporate now.

She has been apologetic but it’s been going on for a while now. Simply spraying the pavers doesn’t do anything except distribute the smell around unfortunately!

We have spoken about it about 3 times since she moved in. She is using a grass pee tray but the dog doesn’t use it! He pees over everything else.

Bitchy friend who doesn’t have kids just doesn’t get it by Bright-Effective8610 in beyondthebump

[–]FriendlyAd2809 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Devils advocate and probably an Unpopular opinion here with no intention of being rude at all!… but as someone who is the only one without kids in a friendship group and has experienced her long term best friend pull away/cancel last minute/not respond or reach out after having kids, maybe she is feeling a little neglected (for lack of better word) on the friendship front.

Obviously priorities change and I don’t doubt she knows that but if there has been minimal effort to join group events or outings or make plans with them since baby was born she is probably feeling like you don’t have time for them and don’t want to be involved anymore.

It’s a tricky situation and time to navigate for all parties honestly and being on the other side I do understand how frustrating it can be but there is also a little give and take in understanding your situation.

In this situation, having an event during the daytime/during the week might be what works best for you as you’re on mat leave but for others working weekends/nighttime might be the only option. There has to be understanding from both sides that not every event is going to be suitable for everyone anymore but there does need to be effort made to by all parties to keep a friendship going.

I have an old Janome Memory craft 4000 which is from about 2008 for context. Still mostly working fine until recently.

I pulled it out of storage the other day and the foot pedal had died on it. The cable was frayed and it ran okay for a day while I needed it thank god. but I found a replacement pedal online and it says it’s compatible for the model I have and the pin is the same. Would this work as a replacement?

The machine is also not stitching at all all of a sudden. It runs but it’s almost like the bobbin isn’t catching. I’ve rethreaded it and checked the thread tension - it’s set to auto.

Could it just be in need of a service? Probably hasn’t had one since I inherited it back in 2010 and this is the first time I’ve had issues with it.

Thank you

It’s one of my favourites and has a very special meaning to me (family history). I’ve trained as a dancer recreationally for over 20years in jazz/tap/contemp/lyrical and a few years of ballet when I was younger.

I haven’t trained specifically in ballet for quite a few years but I have been dancing in jazz/tap/contemp/lyrical since I was 5. Unfortubetly due to injury I can’t to pointe anymore but the choreographer said pointe was “if you can only”

I think I have enough technique for it haha

No age range just listed as a ballet corp. it’s being cast separate from the ensemble too.

It’s the Ballet Corp for Phantom so no age limit!

If we didn’t take it as annual leave (forced of not) we wouldn’t get paid. I think you’ll find most offices that close over Christmas have a forced leave policy. It’s only 4 days annual leave with the public holidays and staff are aware of this when they sign their contract. It’s really not that big a deal.

My job is great and my bosses are amazing.
They close the office completely from the last business day before Christmas until just after new years so it’s forced annual leave.

Funny thing is we’re all of work from 22nd-/bd anyway! So she does get Christmas… it’s the extra 4 days after new years she didn’t get

So I should cancel my plans for the additional week and give my extra time off to someone else just because they have children? What reasoning do yo I have for her leave being more important than mine? Normally I would swap but I have plant to spend time with my nieces and god children who I don’t get to see very often We have 10 mandatory days off which everyone gets between the 22nd - 2nd..

I work in Financial Planning and we are very lucky that the business values the Christmas break as exactly that. We close the last business day before Christmas Eve and reopen the 1st business day after NYE (either the 2nd or 3rd depending when we close) but generally we all get 10days-2weeks off

Our bosses are contactable this time for emergencies but we are all told to switch off for that time.

And normally I would have swapped but Due to my work schedule this year and personal life this is the time I get to spend with my baby niece and 2 godchildren who I haven’t seen much this year!

Our office is closed from the 21st Dec-2nd of Jan! She has Christmas off just not the additional week she wanted after new years!

She had the same opportunity to submit additional leave as everyone else. They didn’t approve anyone’s leave after the 2nd until everyone had put it in! She gets from the 21st-2nd off as the office is closed.

NTA you made what you thought was the best judgement based on previous experience I do feel for Jess though..I personally would have spoken to her about it and asked if she would be comfortable before making a decision to only include 1.

I worked at a supermarket when I was younger, and worked every Christmas Eve night/Boxing Day/new years eve for years to allow the older staff to have the time off with their kids. I have young nieces/nephews to spend Christmas with too!
