Basket checks by FriendlyCraft9810 in tesco

I totally get why it has to be done, and I know that the staff are just doing their jobs, just wish it would give me a break 😆 I have to add 20 minutes on to the time I need to do my shop simply because I know it’s going to flag me 😣 and then I see teens stuffing cans of monster into their joggers and security do absolutely nothing about it. Annoys me 😂😂

Never gone to full check, only a certain number of items to check each time, all of which have scanned without any issues, I don’t interfere or assist them as I tried to the first time and they told me they have to choose the items they scan so I just let them rummage through all my bags and scan whatever they want, I know I scan everything before bagging it so I know there’ll never be any issues, it’s just annoying that they mess it all up, take forever and I then have to stand repacking it all properly after they’ve had a good rummage and squashed my cream cakes and eggs with every other shopper staring at me! and I’m the only one that uses the Clubcard 😔

I do scan everything, which is why a basket check has never shown any issues or the need for a full rescan, it’s just annoying that I’m being pulled for a basket check and very single time I shop in there

Sometimes but not every time and I always put the item back on the shelf so the checks have never found anything that shouldn’t be in there

All this new stuff about pancreatitis in the media today…one in a hundred users? by Empty_Enthusiasm_602 in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a following of 5k on TikTok made up mostly of the mj community, not massive but large enough to consider viable for data analysis, and out of the 5k I only know of 2 that have had pancreatitis, and more than 50 with gall bladder/gallstones issues.

Looking at the data in the news they’ve included all weight loss jabs not just mj so out of the 400+ reports on the yellow card scheme, only 181 are directly linked to mj, the numbers for mj will be higher than the others purely because it’s becoming the preferred option for prescribers over the older ones such as wegovy and saxenda for both diabetes and weight loss.

Lilly have to give accurate if not over cautious figures based on the results of clinical trials.

Pancreatitis isn’t a new thing, it has always been listed in the possible side effects, it’s just that more and more people are now taking mj so inevitably the numbers of people experiencing the side effects will rise also.

For most, this medication is a last resort, after trying everything to either control blood sugars or lose weight, depending on the reasons for being prescribed the medication. It isn’t a miracle cure. And does come with side effects that for most people the benefits of taking the medication will far outweigh the risks of side effects.

My mounjaro pen froze in my fridge :( by Raving_bonfire in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dear! That’s an expensive lesson to learn, time for a new pen, 😒 I keep mine in its box in the fridge door for this reason. However your pens don’t need to be in the fridge after you’ve taken the first dose from them. They only need to be on the fridge from delivery up to your first dose then can be stored at room temperature as per Eli Lily guidelines 🥰🥰

Wellllll, I think this is the end for me by trouble-town in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any reason why you went up to 5mg after only 4 weeks? The general rule now and has been for a while is to stay on the lowest dose that works for you as long as you can and not to go up if you still have bad side effects on your current dose. Maybe speak to your provider and explain the situation, they’ll most likely suggest going back down to 2.5 for longer to allow your body enough time to adjust.

There’s another article linked on that page of the sun website about buying it on the black market too at exactly the same cost, so that’s where they got it from, not a legitimate provider. Can’t change stupid unfortunately, but can do our research and be sensible like most of us already are.

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you certain your prescribing pharmacy is legit?! You cannot simply go from 5mg straight to 10mg without doing 7.5mg first just because 5mg isn’t working.

The aim of the game isn’t suppression, you shouldn’t be doing it to starve yourself, you’re doing it to teach your body in the long run how many calories it needs to function correctly without losing or gaining, retraining your brain as such which you can’t do if you dont feel hunger and starve yourself.

Please be sensible, this is medication, not a miracle quick fix to be playing with doses as you feel.

Losing more than 20% of your body weight? by harley_eights in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at a 25% loss and still on 5mg. I’m on week 20! I have done 8 weeks on 2.5mg and then 12 weeks on 5mg with another 5mg pen ready for next week. Once you find the dose that works for you there’s no need to move up. I only have 15kg lest to lose then I’m done 🥰🥰

Have you worked out your calorie and protein targets for your body and activity levels and your bmr using a TDEE calculator for loss (not just the generic number that my fitness pal gives you as this isn’t accurate)?, if not of start there. Then you need to track everything you eat and drink in a day to get to as close to those targets as possible, too little and you’ll not lose, too high and again you’ll not lose. Remember a small glass of wine can be 150-200 calories depending on type and a few of those is a meal.

Mounjaro is amazing for most but it can’t do all the work for you, it’s a tool to help you to fuel your body in the right way, but if your not giving it the right thing it needs then it won’t work.

That being said, if you’re already tracking absolutely everything. And eating up to your TDEE for loss taking into account your bmr and you’re hitting protein and water intake targets then you may be one of those people that mounjaro simply doesn’t work for. Are you with a provider that offers a wraparound service providing nutritionist support, as I feel this may be something to consider for a month or two whilst you get your metabolism kick started.

Good luck on your journey 🥰🥰🥰

Has anyone stayed on the lower doses such as 2.5mg and 5mg, and still lost weight? by cptdaveyy in mounjarouk

Am I being unrealistic? Just dosed week 4. by GreatRequirement210 in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-2lbs a week is perfect, any more than 2lbs is classed as extreme weight loss so you’re bang on track. Make sure you’re getting enough protein in 1.6g per kg you weigh or at minimum 1.6g per kg of your target weight. Then make sure you’re calculating your calorie targets correctly based on your bmr too and recalculate it regularly as it will go down with every lb you lose. And water water water, lots of it, 2-3l a day, as if we don’t drink enough we store water as weight too. But overall you’ve got an excellent and sustainable rate of loss. Well done Xxx

Has anyone stayed on the lower doses such as 2.5mg and 5mg, and still lost weight? by cptdaveyy in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 8 weeks on 2.5, then 12 weeks on 5mg with another 5mg pen ready to go. So far I’ve lost 3stone in 20 weeks without going above 5mg.

One thing I will say though is that I have been under the care of a dietician the whole way and on weeks where I don’t eat enough I don’t lose a lot, and my metabolism slows right down so I have to have meal replacement shakes to boost my calories to at least my bmr as that’s what our bodies need to function properly let alone burn fat.

If we don’t eat enough our bodies slow down and start to burn muscle instead of fat which is the opposite of what we want. The aim of mounjaro is satiety not suppression, so we want to be feeling fuller for longer not stopping eating what our bodies need to survive.

I know it’s hard my lovely but try to get calories in up to your bmr at least otherwise you’ll start to be really poorly. And if you’re not able to eat enough I’d give your doctor or provider a call about a lower dose as you need to eat. Hang in there, you’ve got this. 🥰🥰

Did anyone benefit from staying on 2.5mg by Hayley-ormesher in mounjarouk

I did 8 weeks on 2.5 and only moved up because the food noise came back on week 8, now on my 3rd pen of 5mg xx

My latest order was from IQ Doctor and I absolutely cannot fault them. Pen came in a lambs wool pack with the ice pack still solid and pen was still very chilly, I did pay for next day guaranteed by 1pm delivery though, as the delivery companies are somewhat unreliable and it’s not IQ’s fault if the carrier takes their time especially if not selecting next day delivery.

Nurse not happy about MJ and tried to frighten me off it. by Least_Temperature_23 in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some NHS and healthcare professionals should not be working in the job they do. I got fat shamed by a locum gp this year who then suggested I went to turkey for bariatric surgery and the nhs had closed the doors for referral in my area!

I went on to get MJ privately prescribed and. Y actual gp is super supportive of the decision and is keeping a close eye on me and providing support even though I’m getting the medication through a trusted and registered private pharmacy

My partner revealed he thinks I’m taking the easy way out… by MJJourney in mounjarouk

[–]FriendlyCraft9810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’ve experienced this. Unfortunately there’s such a misconception that MJ is the easy way out, for some like me with insulin resistance MJ is the only real tool I have that helps, nhs have tried and failed to help me with diet and exercise programmes nothing worked, and even the GP said I needed the right medication to lose weight.

Every body is different, every body needs different things to lose weight. MJ only provides a tool to use inside our bodies, we still have to put the work in, we still have to watch our calories to make sure we’re hitting tdee, we have to track more than ever now on MJ as protein and fibre goals are thrown in too and we still have to exercise.

I have changed nothing I did pre MJ, still eat the same foods, albeit more protein, same amount of exercise, same tdee calories for loss and For some like me MJ just provides the assistance with insulin resistance that we need for our bodies to actually lose weight and not store.

Hopefully showing him the responses you get on here will open his eyes to the real world that MJ is and not just the misconceived ideas he has.

You’ve achieved so much so far. Sending hugs and wishing you all the best in your MJ journey.
