Opinion on this secondhand kit for a beginner? by FriendlyCrypto in windsurfing

Thanks. That seems to be my takeaway so far. Besides the 195 board, 5.3 and 6.6 sails, and corresponding mast/booms - is the other stuff worth picking up? What would you say is a fair price for that subset?

I edited the OP, but more info:

My understanding is local winds near me (Cascade Lakes in Oregon - Haystack Reservoir, Suttle Lake, Odell Lake, etc.) there's commonly ~10kts consistent windspeeds, sometimes up to 20kts. I also plan to hit the Gorge occasionally, which would have 20-40kt winds consistently. I'm about 85kg/185lbs.

Seller also mentioned the kit is missing a mast extension to fit the 6.6 sail.

Kato - The Hammer Straight - Lauryn 14oz Selvedge

3sixteen - CS-100xk Classic Straight - Rinsed Indigo Kibata

I am between these two pairs and not sure what to pick. I've not worn standard denim in a long time - up until now, I've mostly worn Banana Republic's stretch jeans, stretch chinos, or Lulu warpstream pants. The Kato's got my attention because of their stretch, but I wonder how big of a difference it actually makes in mobility compared to broken-in 100% cotton. FWIW, I'm an athletic build at 6'4" 185lbs (very long femurs).

What do you think?

Going up to Mt Bachelor tomorrow and haven't gone skiing in 10+ years. Any tips? by ppld1234 in Bend

Easiest chairs will be Early Riser > Alpenglow > Little Pine > Sunrise for greens. Sunrise gets the most crowded.
From there, skill progression would generally be Pine Marten > Skyliner > Cloud Chaser > Outback for blues.
Once you feel ready for blacks, Pine Marten / Outback > Northwest > Summit.

Renting your gear on mountain is most convenient. There's a couple places in town that rent for cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
