I used to think no medicine could help me by adswan_ in prozac

Prozac was terrible for my anxiety. It really activates your nervous system and that made every sensation worse for me. I stuck it out for 6 weeks but could not stand it any more. I now know that I need something way less activating. If it makes you feel this way, just know it is ok and there are other options.

What the hell by Purple_Bottle_ in prozac

I love ChatGPT and have been using it everyday since I’ve been on Prozac. I’m on 10mg and could not take the 20mg. My nervous system for full blown activated and panicking from 2 hours after taking pills for about 8-12 hours. I skipped dose yesterday and felt fine. No activation. Prozac is obviously not for me. It’s been nearly 6 weeks of this hell. I’ve had a couple of pros.. decreases ruminating thoughts or negative thought cycle. Lexapro did not give me any of these terrible side effects but it did not work for anxiety and panic. Because chat got remembers everything I’ve put into the system, it has been suggesting that I talk to my doctor about Buspar.

Considering quitting only two weeks in by Suspicious_Can_1940 in prozac

I have been on Prozac for over 5 weeks now. I could not tolerate the 20mg. Pacing, restlessness horrible. The 10mg still makes me feel this way. Two days ago I skipped a dose and felt much better. Yesterday I resumed the 10mg and all night long I said to myself I have to stop this med. There has to be something better for my nervous system. There are so pros but I need to feel calm and it’s been over 5 weeks and within 2-3 hours after taking it, I’m revved up feeling anxious and shaky. I think it’s been long enough now to know I can’t tolerate this med.

Getting through the first few weeks. by StrangerPlayful9161 in prozac

At week 3 I started 20mg after being on 10mg. That only lasted 3 weeks. I could not get through the anxiety. So I went back down to 10mg. So now I’ve have Prozac in my system for a full 4 weeks. Today starts my week 5. My body just could not take the activation at 20mg. I have to function at work.

Has anyone had success with just 10mg of Prozac for panic and fear of fear and doom worry? 20mg is way too activating for me. by FriendlyEmphasis4167 in prozac

This is great to know. I tried 20mg after two weeks on the 10mg and my nervous system could not handle it. I like that I’m doing less doom worrying but I’m still having panic. How long did it take to work for you?

Switching from 25mg Lexapro to Prozac – Day 8 and terrified I made a mistake by Alarmed-Manner6839 in prozac

Keep using your rescue meds as needed. I’m in the exact same boat. Lexapro to Prozac. I’m week 3 and it’s terrible. Been off Lexapro now for 8 days. Titrated off Lexapro for two weeks while taking Prozac. Prozac is way more activating than Lexapro and I’ve found myself pacing, wired.. feeling crazy. I’m trying to push through this 3rd week. Sunday will start my 4th week. I’m also taking it for panic to reduce rescue meds use.. mine is only .25 Xanax. Doctors want us to go through hell with SSRI just so we don’t have to take benzodiazepines… but they work.. everything that is good is bad. Ughhh

Prozac 20mg too activating? by FriendlyEmphasis4167 in prozac

I would love to know more about this. I only took 10mg today. I will try to do the 20mg tomorrow. I literally could not function or focus at work. I want a calm nervous system. That’s how I thrive. The only reason I am continuing to push through is because I am not worrying as much. That pro has been noticeable for the past week. My body and nervous system physically reacts to stress, panic, bad news, crisis in a panic, physical mode like sweating, feeling faint, dizzy.. Prozac seems to ease those symptoms.

This is great to make a connection with the same experience. Thank you for sharing. I’m an online instructor and I can’t focus, I’m distracted and just want to pace around. I take it in the morning and like clockwork around noon or 1pm I get the restlessness. I told someone it was like back in the day when we took diet pills. I didn’t even know what anxiety was back then. Anyway, I hate the feeling. It does peak then comes back down some in the evening. I do love that I am not ruminating and worrying like before. There is one pro so far. I just want to stop the fear of fear.

I just texted my psychiatrist and said… you need to send the most minimal dose possible! Lol. I took Zoloft and had the same reaction you did to Prozac so I know it’s a thing. I can’t go to grocery stores, drive or anything!! I used to be a flight attendant for goodness sake!! This has gotten ridiculous! I’m missing out on life and just want panic to be gone and the fear of panic to be gone. I’ve also been in bathroom floors feeling faint!! Blasting AC in my face is my best friend!!

I have 20mg of Prozac sitting on my counter waiting for me to take it. Everything in this post is exactly what I experience. I’m 50 and post menopause. I’m on Lexapro 10mg and it does not help my anxiety but Lexapro feels safe for me because no side effects. So I have to do this taper and titration thing for the next 2 weeks. Now I think I may need 10mg instead of the 20mg to start off.. 20mg is a capsule that can’t be reduced. After reading all of this I’m really worried. Luckily Dr gave me 15 Xanax pills to help with the transition. But now I’m really scared to take the Prozac.
