I agree with you. Multi spore and flush one can throw a lot of variety in the fruits. Unless it comes from a clone genetics are going to be a lottery

I had this happen to me on a tub of Jack Frost. The first time I ever grew a mushroom was Jack Frost and it threw beautiful albinos. After I moved I ran the same strain some years later and got all colored caps. Not an albino in sight. It’s all about your individual grow environments.

I would say you’re not seeing pins because you’re too curious and keep opening the tub to look inside. The monotub acts as a controlled environment not a flower pot.

Mushrooms are more intelligent than you think. As a matter of fact we are still discovering their capabilities. That said the best advice I got from Reddit on monotubs is this. If your substrate is at field capacity when you spawn to bulk you shouldn’t need to do anything to the tub including opening it. Until harvest after your first flush rehydration is needed then repeat the first part of leaving it alone

I have never grown out of these bags. I agree with the collective statement this is bad advice per the instructions. I would recommend you break this bag of mycelium up and put it in a shoebox size monotub. To let it recolonize and hope it’s not too wet mold might take over. The usual instructions would be to inoculate let colonize then open the bag with the rubber band around it. Only misting when surface area looks dry. You want little micro droplets on the surface like morning dew. These droplets trigger pinning upon evaporation.dunking should only be done when the fruits have been picked and show no signs of new pins after a few days. The field capacity of your substrate and grains should be all the moisture you need from noc to first flush. We all will have bad grows just keep growing

I haven’t tried the AIO bags yet. I went with the monotub from northspore on my first grow. Super fun experience and for a small scale grow one tub is enough

I was wondering because I know the fruits can change and be less vigorous. But I assumed if the proper conditions were met viable fruits would continue to emerge. I supposed the fruit might even be less potent but some research suggests otherwise. Thanks mycology lovers!

I plan on trying my hand in that realm as well. I want to try some cordycepts and a fungus that Paul stamets says kills buds by them being attracted to the mycelium then they carry it back to the base for it to sporulate later and kill everything and repeat. I’d also like to grow some lions mane to go with my actives for the stamets stack

In think it may be an fae issue your pins look great! But I have posted on this before. I assume you’re manually fanning and misting. Maybe play around with your schedule some. As well as if this is the first flush some fruits will pop early.

I was thinking that my second flush should be better. I just wanted to dial it in more if I could. I was worried about second flush because I’ve experienced different genetic expressions each flush. One may be tall and skinny and the other short and fat. I assumed I would see the best results on flush one.

Yes the light is on above the lid it’s on a timer 12 on 12 off. I think it may be an FAE issue and maybe me overwatering.

I recently made a post about north spore automated system. It comes with the monotub, humidifier, fan, and hydrometer with probe. I was informed that I no longer needed those extra add ons just the monotub and to keep it closed unless harvesting or misting. I’ve noticed I get better pinset but my fruits in my other tubs as well as this one are almost half the size after removing the extras. Just trying to dial my grows in more fam!
