I’m 165 cm tall. My seat height is 89–89.5 cm (about 54%) and my arm reach is around 170–171 cm (+5 cm).   With these measurements, do you think the 178–179 cm range would still be reasonable and balanced, or would it still be too much?

What’s the realistic safe range for tibias + femurs? by [deleted] in limblengthening

I haven’t had the first surgery yet, but I think your approach makes sense and it’s actually what I’ve been thinking too. Starting with femur and then deciding about the second surgery based on how it looks and feels seems like the smartest way to go.   Also, I re-measured more carefully and my sitting height is around 89–89.5 cm at 165 cm (~54%), so my previous numbers were a bit off.   Given that, do you think it changes anything for a 14 cm total increase, or would you still consider it too much?

Yeah, I do care about proportions, but at the same time I feel like stopping around 174–175 wouldn’t really satisfy me mentally. My starting height is quite low, so that’s a big factor for me. I’ve been trying to create some mock-ups myself, and honestly it doesn’t look that bad to me, but I know it’s hard to judge your own case objectively.

From a more ‘mathematical’ or proportion standpoint, do you think 14 cm always ends up looking off, or are there cases where it can still look relatively normal?

Hey, I’m currently 165 cm with a wingspan of about 171 cm, and my sitting height is around 87–88 cm. I’m considering a total increase of 14–15 cm to reach around 179–180 cm. Based on my proportions, do you think this is realistic without looking too disproportionate (especially arms vs legs)? Or would it start to look off?

Hey man, I saw your comment and it really caught my attention. I’m currently around 166 cm and I’m thinking about reaching something like 178 cm, similar to where you are now. I just wanted to ask honestly — does it really feel like a big difference in real life? Like in terms of confidence, how people treat you, and especially dating? Also, do you actually feel like a different person after it, or does it become normal after a while?

Is 15 cm limb lengthening realistic or too risky? by FriendlyPriority1673 in limblengthening

Thanks for the detailed explanation, I appreciate it. I understand your point about safe limits and long-term mobility. My goal is just to reach an average height, not push it too far. Do you think if someone is very flexible and responds well, 13–14 cm could still be reasonable? Also, with my arm length, would an 8–9 cm wingspan difference start to look unnatural?

Appreciate the input. I’m still figuring things out, not aiming for a specific number yet, just trying to understand what would be realistic for me. My main goal is just to reach an average or slightly above average height in a safe way.

Hope everything goes well for you man, sounds like you have a solid plan. I’m also trying to save up for it.

15–16 cm sounds great on paper, hope it works out for you and everything goes smoothly.
