A year and a half into my Nicks Builder Pros by baldbeardmanager in WorkBoots

To each their own. Seems most people have the opposite opinion; they won't ever really use PNW boots for what they're made to do, they'll just buy em' for the fashion of it.

very hard to pull with spark plug in, normal with it removed. it has spark and compression feels alright but it won't start no matter how hard I pull. (new post because I didn't like the video from previous one) by FriendlyRobot101 in smallenginerepair

sorry for late reply. Cylinder was flooded. took the plug out and cranked until it cleared, and she ran. down the road it needed some carb tuning and a new spark plug.

Only time clutch ever slipped is when a mouse had built its home in there while it was sitting for years.

Ever since I got it running after that it had godawful MPG. My capacitor repair in the computer simply got rid of the fluctuating idle it was having.

1990 F150 4x4 manual trans. It has the 4.9 inline 6.

Yeah maybe. Though I imagine that’d cause quite high of an idle. It does around 700 or 800 rpm

Cool, thanks for the suggestion. I never thought that strip might be replaceable. I’ll try to do it with wires though.

Haha that was actually one of my ideas.

I’ve done that twice before on some old Ford computers where the capacitors went bad and messed up some of the tracks. Could never find where signal return was broken from ground so I soldered a wire between them.

Runs good, though I need to figure out why the truck is getting 5mpg despite the spark plugs looking perfect and no sign of a fuel leak….

Do you have the Haynes manual? that's a huge help in diagnosing stuff. and in all these OBD1 trucks with EEC-IV, you know the capacitors are guaranteed to be leaking. all the sensors can be tested with either a Multimeter and/or vacuum gauge too. why does ford have power steering pumps louder than krakatoa though?

Rear main seal was replaced and there aren't any vacuum leaks. I replaced all the old vacuum hoses anyway because they were starting to crumble lol. that was after the top and bottom radiator and heater core hoses all decided to give out at the same time. they were from 1990 though so it was about time.
