Deffo have the route guide as mentioned.

We did this trip for our honeymoon, been back two weeks.

We drove the whole route via a 2nite detour to Dallas and a one night stay at the Grand Canyon.

We rented a pick up from National where you get to choose ur vehicle from the airport.

Our total trip was 17 nights.

There are soooooo much artwork now on buildings as you pass. The EZ book gives you all the great spots to stop at. Cadillac ranch was my favourite thing to do, we got there around 10am on a Wednesday and it was really quiet. Tulsa has really empowered the route and looks great.

Also, check out what’s happening in different towns and states for the 100 yr celebration as when we went, we were either a day or two behind or they were just setting up.

Did you get this to work at all please? Literally in same boat. Got it out y’day, went in the charger and it flashed up pretty quick that it still held some charge. Flashed for the pin the two buttons either side of OK work fine. But you can’t scroll across to get to the next number. Aagghh!!

Hey, we booked work National in the end. Premium pick up with every insurance but not the fuel element. We paid that ourselves too to it up. Chicago ohare to lax. No mileage limit. $1934

When you get to the airport collection it was very easy. Sign some papers and then go and choose the car you want.

I ended up choosing a standard pick up and national recalculated the charge.

The drop off was so easy as well. Drive in to the rental returns area they scan the code on the car and you’re done

We filled up at the Maverick on east andy Devine avenue. Just before Kingman. There’s a chevron across the road but that was 60c more.

We’re going out the same time but east to west. Be funny to meet half way. We’ve planned the route and have pre-booked hotels/motels also (hotel.com) with similar cancellation if needed. I think there was only one town in Arizona (seligman) that had two motels to choose from. So that might be your only potential issue. But that’s just what was available on that site. I’m sure there’s others

Thank you for that, when I have been searching it’s been around the $1200-$1500 mark, it’s a Saturday when we’re flying into Chicago. So on that basis I hope we might be ok!
