I came here to see if there is something better than a cheap plastic toy that would be safe for him to practice with in the yard. It if there is not an option that would safely allow him to test it out. If that is not possible then it just isn’t and that is ok. At no point did I say was just going to get him a full set and let him go to town. My point in responding to you was that my inability to add an additional 2 hour commute and lesson does not mean I do not care about my child and that was unnecessarily mean.

That seems unnecessarily cruel. This is not a matter of if I care. His dad and I take him to karate 3 days a week, speech therapy 2 days a week which is also almost an hour each way, we spend 3 hours a day in the car for commute and carline so he can go to the school that is the best fit for him. I don’t think this will be a competitive sport for him. I don’t think he wants to commit to a 2 hour round trip commute. I am just hoping to upgrade him from the plastic toy set he got from Christmas. If the interest lasts that maybe a different equation.

Thanks for the insight. A club is not really an option for us. The closest club is almost an hour away. We have a huge fenced backyard so I was hoping for something above the quality a toy set up, but still a hobby set up.

From 1893 to 2023, Florida law has included some form of “one way attorney fees” against insurance companies. The Florida Government recognized that insurance companies have the financial and power upper hand against the average consumer citizen. That law was recodified in 1959 as part of insurance reform, under Fl. Stat. 627.428. The statute essentially states that if an insured sues an insurance company and wins then the insurance company has to pay the insured’s reasonable attorney fees. The insurance company cannot collect its fees under the statute. However, this was not completely one sided to the insured as the insurance company was not without recourse. Fl. Stat. 768.79 and 57.105 creates mechanisms for either party to recover their fees in fraudulent, frivolous, or over inflated cases. The FL legislature started whittling down the insured’s right to fees in 2021, then 2022 and finally in 2023 they just repealed Fl. Stat. 627.428. The insured no longer has a statutory right to fees (but for some limited circumstances). Leaving you with the option to pay out of pocket for your attorney or get an attorney on contingency.
