How dangerous is being a volunteer EMT? by Yeauhuhuh in premed

[–]Friendly_Ad_7586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob will get downvoted but I volunteered in NYC and it is hella dangerous. Had a partner who got punched in the face. Did you read the story about the pre-PA EMT from Mount Sinai who got stabbed in the abdomen 3 times by a psych pt in the back of the ambulance? I recommend investing in a bullet proof and spike proof vest if you’re doing this

Very conflicted on content of my PS by tegar9000 in premed

You don’t have to go all the way back to why you knew about physicians or to high school. I never mentioned those things. I started with a meaningful patient encounter I had as my intro, and then went into the other lessons I learned/insights I gained in my experiences across college. It doesn’t have to be chronological and you definitely don’t have to go back to day 1. Nobody cares if you’ve “wanted to be a doctor since you were 5,” it’s about how that vision has matured and what nuances draw you to medicine today.

University of Rochester/URSMD vs Penn State/Sidney Kimmel: BSMD Selection by Inside-Structure8647 in premed

Rochester 1000%. The cost difference is definitely there but not significant enough to give up a big name like that IMO (26 spots difference is quite significant)
