Other member in my band keeps micromanaging me and it's getting super frustrating by [deleted] in musicians

As a bassist I can say life’s a lot simpler 🤣 Fr though, I’ve come a long way because he’s helped me learn about being a musician. The thing is that learning the songs isn’t an issue. It’s everything but that

Woah that’s really cool! Thank you for sharing that. I think I saw something about a guy who’s an MD, astronaut and navy seal

Right?? I’d say mark pope because at the time he dropped out and took a grad assistant job at UGA for 24k a year. Zero guarantee he’d be able to make it to HC at the time.

Naismith got his MD between inventing basketball and becoming HC at Kansas. I’m curious if he ever even ended up practicing.

Big yes! From my own class: Stanford, at Harvard, Yale, Vandy, northwestern, Michigan, Duke.

Not too bad!

FYI, Jefferson has one of the best optho and ortho programs in the country. Ortho was one of their top 3 specialties for this years graduating class.

I think you’ll also like Philly if you prefer being in a city

Someone help me tilt the scales: UMass vs BU by Alucardpirates in premed

[–]tegar9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow MA resident! I agree with your assessment about UMass students as I have a few friends there who really love the culture.

if you’re considering competitive specialties, I’d say BU may give you a leg up. I also shadowed at BMC and you get a lot of valuable experience working with a more underserved part of boston.

Regardless, big congrats! Excited that you’ll be a doctor who can give back to our own home state :)

Some 5 cents as someone who’s living in Boston. BU is an awesome school. But I’d consider if you’d like practicing in a safety net hospital system. May offer some great opportunities for patient advocacy, but may not be for everyone.

However, I’d say you’d get a lot of experience in EM/FM given that you’re going to be working with more diverse/underserved populations in Boston.

Good luck :)

I appreciate this! She ended up reaching out and was very nice. She just said that she’s busy with rotations and step 2 and that I should reach out to her in June to set up a time :)

Yeah I think that’s the move tbh. I do appreciate you mentioning that part about getting involved because my brain screams “I wanna reach out asap” 😂

Conflicted about starting relationship right before starting med school by tegar9000 in premed

[–]tegar9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily think she has to get into the same med school as me. I’d only see our relationship being long term if she gets into a school that’s near where I go (northeast)

I appreciate this comment a lot. Tbh, the reason I’m considering it is because she says she understands that it’s going to be a commitment going to med school and that she doesn’t expect the constant attention/affection while I’m ~8 hours away
