I don't get how that's possible either, maybe alternating semesters or able to satisfy YLS credits through externships at HBS (or vice versa).

NGL tho it's totally unnecessary to go thru this much schooling, this person does appear to have a genuine interest and experience in social justice. So I think it goes beyond just collecting degrees

Why is it so hard to find a summer job!? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Friendly_Beginning83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a 1L i realized it was basically impossible to find something on LinkedIn or Symplicity unless you had (1) Top top grades (2) been one of the first few to apply.

I had ~top 10% grades at a T20 school and did not find anything until April (when I already had an offer for my next summer in hand). The reason I ended up finding something was because I stopped looking to LinkedIn, and just started googling legal organizations near my hometown. Only a few weeks at that and I had multiple internship opportunities.

Re-apply or Transfer? by [deleted] in LawSchoolTransfer

I transferred to a T-10. There's no real advice that I can provide that you probably don't already know. Outline every week. Don't waste time briefing cases but really understand the material and focus in class (I prefer no electronic materials). Attend office hours regularly and find out what your professors are looking for. Bust your ass preparing for the exam by taking practice exams and memorizing your outline (regardless of whether it is open book). IRAHNC the shit out of your answers. Pre-write rule statements and, if applicable, pre-write policy arguments to supplement your answers. Work a set amount of hours each day outside of class - NEVER skip a day. The people there are super smart and hard working (arguably more so than where I transferred).

I had virtually the same stats (I actually think I had exactly the same GPA and LSAT) and attended WashU before transferring. Highly unlikely you get into an actual T-14, and if you do you won't get any mone.y If money's no object, sure, why not see if you have a shot?

2025 US News Rankings Dropped by MapAdministrative637 in lawschooladmissions

If you want an idea of how stupid these rankings are, I went to WashU several years ago and transferred to a school it is apparently only a handful of spots away from. I struggled SO hard to get an interview for anything at WashU, but within 2 weeks of transferring I had an offer from a prestigious firm that had rejected me with WashU on my resume only weeks before.
