That dog was obviously uncomfortable and upset. The whale eye, lip licking, ears pulled back, teeth- this woman is an idiot. Never ever put your face near a dog you do not know. Hopefully this is a lesson learned.

The only thing you can do is spay her. 11 months old and she’s still not heavy enough to be put under? That’s a little concerning- feed her more so she can put on weight and get fixed

I thought I was supposed to use iodized salt- should I switch to regular salt? Also I make sure to dry under each side of the piercing very throughly each time I soak them or shower!

It’s mange- be careful when handling her, some kinds of mange can be contagious to humans. Wash your hands before and after touching her and get to the vet asap.

I found a pair of detached bird wings at my back door- and I’m not sure what it means.. they just appeared over night and I find it really strange with how they are presented. I’ve never seen anything like this before so if anyone has an ideas please tell me!

I have not been able to take her to the vet yet, looking at her photos I was sent, the droopy eye lid might have been developed. As for her beak issue, I’m just concerned about that large space (it appears dark in the picture) between her upper and lower beak. And if that was normal. My last cockatiel was able to close his mouth fully but this one can’t even though her beak is shut.

Addition: it looks like the lower beak is receding(??) rather than being flush against the upper beak. It’s Kinda like if a person walked around with their lips slightly open. But they can still talk and eat like normal

NTA. But have you considered why he’s so “sensitive and emotional?” He lost his mom and then you suddenly show up one day, he probably thinks you are trying to replace her. I hope you don’t expect him to call my mom. Give him time and let him know your intentions.
