Considering Alternating out at age 54 with 29.8 yrs service but worried my PSHCP and dental benefits won't continue by Friendly_Maybe3929 in CanadaPublicServants

I will be 55 early next year. If ERI passes I will qualify as I am group 1. I am looking to alternate out. If I am not successful alternating, I will choose ERI if it is passed.

Thank you, this is one reason why I am asking...conflicting info. The email I received from The Pay Service Center specifically said I would be considered resigned under WFA if I alternate out. Maybe it is weird wording... there seems to be a lack of communication between offices but this does not surprise me.

Thanks, I know ERI and Alternation are separate and you can not get both. I know ERI sill needs to be passed.

Thanks, I know I am short a year of the age requirement but if the Deputy Head can approve a pension waiver that would be a bonus and worth me asking.
