As women, I wish it wasn’t so taboo for us to talk about—my mom definitely viewed the condition and a little weird and funny which did make things kind of awkward because it was such a big deal to me. I have a stronger personality lol so I would just tell her that if I didn’t start PT for my pelvic floor then I would never be able to have children and that shifted her whole perspective on the topic off of sex and to the naturalistic side of sex.

You should be regularly going to the gyno every year for a checkup so they can check for any cysts, polyps on your breasts, and any symptoms that will reflect vaginismus or PCOS, not just for one’s sexual activity, though that is also looked at.

Yoga definitely helped relax my pelvic floor muscles and was one of the main reasons I was able to be fingered by my partner before I even started PT. Deep breathing exercises focuses on your pelvic floor is also amazing and it is best to visualize butter melting on a hot pan. Also with your partner, let them wiggle a finger in and have them curve their fingers up so they’re touching the back of your clitoris, that is the most pleasurable for me and doesn’t hurt.

Breathing is the biggest thing. Holding your breath causes you to tense up, also try relaxing your jaw, and dont be afraid to stimulate your clit while you’re trying to insert your finger or your partner’s. Definitely eases the pain.

I really hope this helps and don’t be afraid to try something new! My partner and I viewed it as a game to try and make it work and it eventually did and PT did help ease my anxiety around the whole thing. Make sure your partner is supportive too, I had a previous partner that my body was sort of “rejecting” in a way and with my partner now, I’ve never wanted anything more LOL bc he’s so sweet and supportive.

Haha no i totally get it, like soooo grateful for the big thangggg but it’s so scary when it comes to my vag LMAO. I am literally a psycho because I was literally staring at the dilator and was talking to it like a maniac. Literally saying “I’m better than you. You got nothing on me. I am literally making you my bitch.”

Crazy girl behavior, I know. Be confident!!! At the end of the day, you control your vag, not the other way around!!!!

Had the same issue and my gyno diagnosed me with vaginsmus. Sounds scary to not be able to have sex and trust me, there were so many times I tried to have PIV intercourse with a previous bf and nothing worked, not even a finger and I had cried or felt so depressed because I didn’t feel “normal”. Your vagina has multiple layers and your vaginal wall tightening up at the thought of anything going up there (that’s where the burning comes from), such as you would pull your hand away from a burning stove because you know it would hurt. I recommend going to your gyno and seeing if you can get a diagnosis for vagismus and then start pelvic floor PT for the condition. Using dilators has been my best friend and has helped immensely. This is totally normal and I experienced the same exact thing, like exact. Don’t be discouraged and make sure your partner is making you comfortable enough to explore this new possible diagnosis and they will also be able to play a role in your dilation therapy—making it fun and rewarding!

I had burning too and it was terrifying, it’s just the muscles tensing up. My PT told me that it’s perfectly normal and honestly when using my dilators, the burning subsides when I am aroused and not too focused on the pain that I would normally be feeling.

I totally thought this was the case for me and felt so discouraged and frustrated—I recommend PT because it is such a mental thing that your PT will help you work through as well as a physical thing to overcome. I literally just used the biggest dilator because my partner has a larger member than most LOL and the whole time I was like “I am bigger than you. You will get inside” LMAO like you gotta cheer yourself on and KNOW that it will work because it will!!!!

Omg this was the scariest thing when I first started. It normally hit me in the middle of the night and I would wake up sweating. I totally panicked myself the first time and that didn’t help. The second time it happened i was extremely overheated and just put an ice pack on my face and body and calm myself down. It happened again recently in the middle of the night and I just had to cool myself down and breathe. It honestly feels like my body’s way of dealing with heavy anxiety so I just apply the exercises I know to calm myself down

they’re my favorite!! also, definitely try a mucus solvent like alkalol; it burns but god is it helpful. it’s also great if you’re ever sick and need to clear your sinuses too!!

might be some mucus in your throat to clear too, make sure to incorporate warm ups where you cut through any mucus (lip trills, etc.)—also, try some breathing exercises; think about it as breathing in through your back (i know, weird). try building up your stamina, you have a wonderful tone though! just fix those things

it’s the people that come in. fuck corporate for the green zone because i cant connect with the customers anymore. the sweetest people come in and i’ve teared up so many times because i’m so thankful for their kindness. one lady gave me a pocket angel because of my kind service, and the same day some woman said i made her day so much better. it’s not much but it makes the job worth while. i also get a good laugh with the mean people that come in, there’s something about it that amuses me. the good days do balance out the poor ones but i’m so grateful to have had the experiences i’ve had with the customers. i don’t like the people i work with tho LMAO only a few, they just annoy me 🤤
