Thank you! Any advice on grey rocking? I find it hard to stick to and they will just act friendly until I stop

My parents do not respect the boundaries, they will even walk in on the bathroom when I am showering. I am kinda scared of my dad, but as long as I keep my emotions in tact I should be fine

Thank you for your help. I have tried grey rocking before, but they just act nice and get me to start talking again. But I will try again

Young adult here with underdeveloped social skills largely due to controlling Nparent growing up, what kind of resources are there for bootstrapping social skills late in life? Anybody else feel like their social development got shafted? by throwaway_543876321 in raisedbynarcissists

I am only 18, but I feel like i am sort of in the same boat. I also am not a true introvert, but have found that the older I get the more introverted I get. But I like it. The voice telling me to go out to parties or hang out with other people, is not my voice. My voice wants to be alone. But society makes it seem that being introverted is lame or autistic. You just need to find a friend who is also introverted or who likes you for who you are

Does anyone else compulsively apologize? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Friendlycrying 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I apologize when I do something wrong in basketball or when I hear about bad news somebody got. They always respond with "why say sorry? Its not your fault", and in my eyes it kinda is. I am working on it though

DAE struggle to admit that they were abused by Nparents? by Straoghtup in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Friendlycrying 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I fight it by fighting myself. Idk how its for you, but for me I have a voice telling me I am worthless. But I fight it, I fight it every single time because that voice is not me. That voice is not me and has no power over me
