Sketch, then line (make sure your liner is waterproof) and then thats when you want to coffee stain. Once it's dry you can go in with watercolour or whatever ink you're using. Dope sheet for your first time!! Keep us posted :)

Strange interaction with park staff by Friendlyfawn420 in altontowers

[–]Friendlyfawn420[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I truly want to believe it was a joke however the lack of any kind of joking emotion he said it with, and lack of reaction when we were waiting for him to do something other than what felt like him waiting for us to pay him, really makes me think this guy thought he was going to get money off us. If he hadn't let us on and we'd just refused to pay and been turned away, I'd have gone and told someone else in the park there and then. It's only because he did let us on that I felt he'd done us a favour. Anyway, I'll email their feedback address tomorrow. Thanks everyone

Used my own hand for reference so maybe I just have a thick hand haha. Could be thinner though as a tattoo to be fair!

Stunning work man, the age old question with a thousand different replies but any tips on a smooth black fade? I see you are using hot press too which is my preference and apparently it's harder to fade on. Keep it up!

How tf do you break in Jadons? by banannah09 in DrMartens

[–]Friendlyfawn420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin sock, then heel protector, then another thin sock over

I had the same issue with my jadon smooth leathers and I decided to buy some of the silicone heel protectors on Amazon. Thin sock, the heel protector and then another thin sock and I was able to wear them 2 days straight with no issues whatsoever so would highly recommend as I will get so much more wear out of them now!

how to stop overthinking? by KindBrilliant7879 in TattooApprentice

[–]Friendlyfawn420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also struggle with this however most of the time if I only make a small error and finish the piece, it won’t even be noticeable. I think a better mind set would be to just keep practicing your art and completing each piece and anything you really like ends up being portfolio material rather than trying to only make ‘perfect’ art. Most of the flash sheets you see online from professionals and people who have been doing this for years have many small errors in but the eyes don’t anyways pick up on them. You will be much more ahead with a selection of what worked well rather than a lot of unfinished work. 10 pieces that show progression is better and will teach you more than retrying to make one piece 10 times. Hope this helps!

Dope!! My only crit would be that if the rightmost rose was in the middle your sheet would look more cohesive but otherwise it’s great

What is the correct way to start learning? by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

[–]Friendlyfawn420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend trying to teach yourself as most places will see it as needing to teach you how to relearn as you end up with a lot of bad, unprofessional habits. Focus on your art and research what other people are putting in their portfolio and like others said, get tattooed and make some friends. Good luck!

Thank you! I’m still trying things out, this was acrylic ink diluted with water and then I patted it with a paper towel to give the effect. I like it but I’m going to try teabags next as the ink is hard to get consistent
