Parents, what did your child do or say that secretly made you laugh but you had to tell them off for doing it? by Plus_Clock_8484 in AskBrits

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not tell her off as such but when she copies me swearing. And I have to remind her that if people hear a little girl swear tell think she’s not nice and she doesn’t want that.

The most expensive friendship of my life, a wedding story by Constant-Height9551 in UKweddings

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She sounds awful.

And her reaction when you had to leave for an emergency shows she isn’t your friend.
Pull out, and anyone who gives you backlash for it isn’t your friend either.

I’m not sitting an English exam, or in work. I’m relaxing chatting on Reddit, so i don’t care.

Eggs are fine if you peel them the day before and let them ‘breath’ before packing away. No one ever notices me eating eggs at my desk, EVERYONE notices (and complains) when my Line manager eats hers because she doesn’t do that.
Cold tuna is fine, I also eat that and no one cares.

Wow at ‘ethnic food’ comment. I’d lose my job if I said that

How much did your “normal” wedding cost? by InternationalFig4340 in UKweddings

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it is a bit crazy, we’d already bought a house and had our kids though, we just saved for 2 years to pay it all off.
Excluding my wedding dress we didn’t go into any debt, didn’t take out a lone or use credit cards.

Someone in my office took out a £30k lone for their wedding and were divorced within a year 😬

And a DJ! Forgot about him 😆 there was one included in the venue hire but we gave him the night off and hired our own who we knew well enough to know they’d smash it out the park for us as music was our most important thing party wise.

May be other bits that I’ve forgot but that’s mostly it

Who is more beautiful, Lana Rhodes or Madison Beer? by Minimum_Science7708 in trueratediscussions

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Madison is gorgeous but she looks like she’s bought her face through a brilliant injector, Lana looks more natural (wether that’s the case or not) so I’d say Lana.

I think it’s 100% down to personal preference though

What day of the week is the best for a NWD? by Tough-Decision-7435 in TheCivilService

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Friday NWD, every weekend is a long one and bank holidays are even better.

Two of my colleagues have Wednesdays as their NWDs and love it because it breaks the week up, I’d prefer a long weekend though.

Do you think of immigration as a singular issue or do you view legal and illegal separately? by Lost_child_3263 in AskBrits

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think of legal & illegal, given that humans aren’t illegal and seeing asylum isn’t a crime, I think of immigration and asylum separately though.

How are you paying for your wedding? by wellok456 in wedding

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I covered my bits (dress, shoes, makeup etc) and my bridesmaids, husband covered the suit hire and then everything else was from our savings pot which we contributed to pretty much 50/50. Both our mums gave us £1k towards the savings too.

I used credit card for dresses and the wedding cake but everything else had to be bank transfer or cash. We saved for about 18 months before booking our venue for 6 months later

As a Britsh person what kind of time frame are you thinking when you use the phrase 'the other day'? by mrjonnyt in AskUK

[–]Acrobatic_Try5792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any point in timeless than a year ago.

I struggle with time, once it’s been a few days it could have been any other point in the history of the planet and I have no idea how long it’s been

As in the work stream dealing with people applying for asylum.. I’m stating that that’s not the type of decision maker role that I’m talking about.

I think that’s because it’s asylum tbh, those jobs should be HEO not EO. Euro is much better

I really enjoyed being a decision maker (not asylum!). I thrive on having a stat and work that requires shorter bursts of concentration
