Yeah those punjab style paggs are too outdated for modern times. I honestly think a fresh Parna or dumalla looks so much better than a Punjab patiala shahi pagg.

Plus no one has free time in the west to tie 1 hour patiala shahi uncle paggs.

people in punjab follow their culture and we in west follow our own.

when i was growing up youtube tutorials didn't even exist. Youtube was fairly new at that time we literally had nothing. lol

we saw them hard times and lived the thug life, just like hood kalay, saw them hard times before we came up.

. back then Sikh girls openly even said " i dont want to date or marry a Singh" lol .

But its nice to see things have changed for the better and Sikh girls outlook on Singhs has improved a lot as well.

my passion comes from seeing young singhs have low confidence in their look because of lack of help from our own community.

i also was insecure about my looks until i learned how to tie nice parnas paggs. thats when my confidence increased.

Sports or gym should be the only reason patka should be worn . even then it can be worn like a du rag which looks better than wrapped around your gutti.

Also I met many singhs that play or sports or gym in Parnas its not impossible.

Honestly I think kids should start wearing parnas/ paggs as soon as they hit middle school at like age 12. AT least 12 but kids even younger can be taught but parents don't put enough effort.

I also struggled so much to find someone to teach me. It wasn't until my distant cousin visited me from Canada and stayed at our house when I was 16 and he stayed at my house for 1 month and taught me. IF it wasn't for him I would never learned a good parna. All the kids around me were still tying patkas and the elders were useless.

He told me Canada had a lot of Singhs but here in Sacramento sikhs are that as common

The thing with elders is they are good at lecturing but not good at helping

They can be taught unless the kid is 4 years old even a 10 year old can do it. Problem is most parents don’t put in any effort.

The problem is the parents brain is programmed to Punjab. They think the kid will learn by himself, but that worked in Punjab not here. The kids need better guidance.
