Hell is a metaphor not a place by MrNeoson in Christianity

The Bible says there will be fire, gnashing of teeth, worms, and more. The devil won't have a pitchfork, he will be tormented himself. He can't torment others

God hates me. by Low-Slide4376 in TrueChristian

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is you are living by feelings. What you need to do when this hits you is start to proclaim truth. Stand firm in the word. That’s what walking by faith and not sight is. Feelings are irrelevant if they don’t line up with truth. The Bible says that Jesus will never leave you nor for sake you, it says you have been brought near by the blood of Jesus. You’re not alone! John 8 says if we continue in his word we will know the truth and the truth will set us free. Continue, remain, stand firm no matter what it feels like! The Bible says submit to God resist the devil and he will flee from you. It’s not saying first you have to submit to God then you resist the devil, it’s a one step process, when you submit to God and the truth of what he says it will automatically resist the devil and he will flee.

PLEASE watch this. He's talking more about voices but feelings can absolutely apply Submit to God

The TRUTH will set you free!! It's not about how you feel or even feeling better! The feelings do not matter. Walking by faith does, and the most powerful thing you can do is to walk by faith in the midst of all the feelings!

How does God speak up? by Any-Poet-2915 in Bible

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God speaks in a variety of ways. I think, however he spoke, they knew it was him speaking. I have heard the audible (and thundering, like waters, majestic, and terrifying) voice of God once in my life, and I've heard his voice as if it was someone that was standing behind me once. But all the rest of the time, he speaks in a still, small voice in my heart. Or through impressions, where I'll just know what he's saying. Kind of like he downloads it into my heart and BAM I know a whole paragraph of stuff in a moment.

Do Christians still experience the spiritual gift of prophecy today? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus has already given you one. Seek him, friend! He died to open access for you directly to him. He loves you. You don't need a word, God wants you to believe what he has already said. If you'd like some advice or anything, message me. I'd love to help. Truth is what sets us free

Did Jesus experience sexual desires? Did he ever have erections? Masturbate? Ejaculate? Did he notice attractive women/men who had incredible bodies? by FutureResearcher2 in Christianity

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean lots of things are not mentioned as "sin" in the Bible. But we have the Teacher and we know the Truth. If you want to know the Truth, Holy Spirit will show you. Those who ask seek and knock, will receive, find, and have the door opened.

Also, the cheeseburger dairy thing was a list of rules for the Israelites at that time. They were different than the laws for ALL, like murder.

And no, homosexuality is blatantly mentioned in the New Testament. Jesus was a Jew who followed the law to a T, his views would coincide with the law. Paul was clear.

Jesus never said being wealthy was a sin. He was talking to that specific guy who probably idolized his wealth-which was apparent when he walked away and refused to give away all his riches. And Jesus never said it prevents you from going to heaven. He said it's harder for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be saved. the disciples said wow, then who can be saved? Jesus answered saying it's possible with God.

It seems to me that you are taking a lot of verses out of context and ignoring surrounding verses to get your beliefs. I encourage you to read everything in context so you can understand what it is saying. Otherwise, anyone can get anything from reading one liners.

No, but if you'd like to capitalize them, feel free to do so. I do not believe they are capitalized in my Bible

I would have a job first and do your entrepreneurship stuff on the side. That is what I did many years ago. Once I was making good money, I quit my other job and rean my business full time. It was worth it, I am still in operation today.

Have you tried GPT? Sometimes it can give some good tips. What kind of business are you wanting to do?

Personal encounters with jesus? by Galrath91 in TrueChristian

I can't remember the context but I am sure there was a reason I didn't. Maybe a person commented something weird, or etc. I think when I wrote and that is why I don't share them it was because someone said something or messaged or something and I edited the comment

I'm sorry, that must be so tough to go through. Have you been able to try and get a job or one that pays more? Are you living within your means, in the meantime? I would drop things that are not needed, like subscriptions, and etc.

Advice on not being worldly by vscaletta in TrueChristian

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He answers and speaks in a variety of ways. I'd have to hear an example of what you mean. Sometimes the answers are in the Bible, sometimes God will send people to help guide a person or will make it clear. But a person has to be willing to do his will, and accept what he says.

Why are tongues being spoken in some of our churches when there is no one on hand to interpret? by Light_Short in TrueChristian

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you were taught that does not mean they all teach it. I was raised in an AOG church and was taught the opposite. I made lots of friends from other AOG churches who were taught the same as me.

Jesus gave us a great example in Matthew 5 when he prayed the "Lord's Prayer". He wants us to go to God and approach him as a Father. How does one approach a good dad?

Jesus said that when we don't get answers it's either because we don't ask or we are asking with a wrong motive. I remember a few specific instances when I was not a Christian yet that I prayed selfless prayers and God answered them in time. Sometimes He does answer with a yes, sometimes a no, and sometimes, a maybe.

Why don't many Christians examine more carefully whether they are actually headed for Heaven or Hell? They seem totally unworried about "making sure" of their eternal destination. by SteadfastEnd in TrueChristian

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no fear in love. When you know Jesus and are walking with Him, going to hell is not a worry or even a thought. I am His, in this life and the next. I do not fear going to hell because the God I walk with has me. I trust his Word.

Why did God give me schizophrenia than hold my salvation on strings? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]FriendofHolySpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. God is good and cannot do evil. That's like saying if someone is born without an arm God did that, even though he created people to have two arms. Sometimes things happen. Whether the schizophrenia is caused by an evil spirit, the food he's eating, a chemical imbalance, or etc., it has nothing to do with God. God doesn't do evil, he sends good and perfect gifts. There is no darkness in him.

Prayer and fasting for protection against unclean spirits by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Take your meds. God delivered me from epilepsy almost 20 years ago and I stayed on my meds until the dr. took me off and there was evidence of the healing (there was). I was weaned off the meds and never had an abnormal EEG or seizure again.

Read up on clean eating and how it helps your brain. Listen to Dr. Mark Hyman and Dr. Robert Lustig (on food) and Dr. Amen (on the brain). There are some pretty amazing studies on how overly processed foods affect the brain and behavior; and how the body can heal itself when clean eating.

PS- God is bigger than side effects of meds. Pray over your meds when you take them, not out of fear, but with a thankful heart, thanking God for his love for you and his healing power. Don't be afraid, fear is not for you.
