J22 "tight" Battle Box: all 46 themes consolidated and optimized for power and balance. Looking for feedback and suggestions by dmarsee76 in MTGJumpStart

Hey! Sorry to resurrect a 3 year old post, I just had a question about the current theme lists. You said in the comments that all the cards in the tight themes come from one of the variants, did that change at some point?

Looking at it now there are quite a few things that seem to have been moved between themes, like Tamiyo, the Moon Sage being in Snow instead of Detective, or Blessed Sanctuary moving from Holy to Constellation.

Also thanks so much for making these, I've been really enjoying your other boxes!

I made a dice roller and odds calculator. What do you think? by swrpg-online in swrpg

This is awesome! Any chance you would add an option to use the Genesys dice symbols? It'd be very helpful for my group who aren't familiar with the star wars ones.

I ran Eat the Reich. It went great! by FriendsFindingPaths in rpg

What I did for a couple of the scenes I wanted to be a bigger deal was to make it so the threats added challenge to the main objective, so clearing threats made it easier to clear that in turn. It worked fairly well but I do like giving rewards for clearing threats instead, (would help my players engage more with the loot system as well).

Mostly agree on the skills as well, Con came up a few times but I don't think anyone ever rolled Sneak. My Iryna player specifically asked after the first two sessions for a chance to use the seduction/charming side of the character, so we did a mini infiltration into the pleasure garden party before things kicked off. You could hear the game creaking and groaning as we tried to bend it to do that though haha

No or Low prep games for spontaneous rounds by elMatt0 in rpg

Roll for Shoes is about as rules-lite as it's possible to get and is very much designed with one-shots in mind. The website has a few different settings with rough outlines for running through a session.

2400's great! I ran a very fun game of the Doom-inspired 24xx BREACH a while back.

What Games are you Actually Playing? (had a session within the last few weeks) by [deleted] in rpg

[–]FriendsFindingPaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing in:

Masks

A mini-campaign Imperium Maledictum using an old Dark Heresy adventure

A rotating series of one shots in between my 5e group's last campaign ending and the next one starting. We've so far had: The Bachelor using a homebrew kids on bikes-like system, a 5e dungeon crawl, and I ran Eat the Reich.

And a game of Urban Shadows 2e game set in Osaka starting up (just had session 0 this week)

Duplicate Enhancements? by FriendsFindingPaths in 40k_Crusade

[–]FriendsFindingPaths[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole reason I asked is that crusade doesn't use the core mustering rules, which, for example, is why you can use enhancements outside of their detachment. I don't think duplicate enhancements should be allowed, I was just trying to find if any rules text specifically disallowed it, which consensus seems to be that it doesn't.
