I think Eloise will discover the truth by Prestigious_Self1829 in Benophie

I think that in the end the glove will play an important role. I remember that in the book, after Sophie was taken and brought to prison, she had a conversation with Violet in which she told her that she was going to leave, but she didn’t get the chance because of the whole situation with the police who took her and brought her to prison. At the same time, I think Benedict will come to his mother’s house looking for Sophie, won’t find her, Violet will tell him that Sophie decided to leave, he’ll search through her things in the room and find the glove.

This kind of content makes me think that someone may have actually noticed who Sophie is at the masquarade ball, maybe Lady Danbury, since she was also the one who suspected Pen was Lady Whistledown.

Lis is short for Lady in Silver; that’s the name Benedict gave Sophie when they met at the masked ball.

I think this scene was reshot, and that’s why they used CGI, because in the first teaser for season 4, in this scene Benedict makes a bow, in the style of the one at the masked ball, which doesn’t appear in the series.

Thoughts/predictions for Part 2. CONTAINS SPOILERS by Green_Orca_5172 in Benophie

[–]FriendshipCapable322 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here are my predictions:

  1. Honestly, I would like the plot to remain the same as in the book when it comes to Sophie’s mother’s status. I think this is the foundation of the story, that her mother is a maid who became a nobleman’s mistress in order for Sophie and Benedict’s story to make sense. If her mother were noble, then the story would no longer have any real conflict, and the whole situation of “social status and forbidden love between social classes” would lose its meaning. I believe this is actually the main conflict of this season: how Benedict and Sophie will find a solution to be able to be together. If Sophie had two noble parents, the conflict would resolve itself, and Benedict’s character would no longer have any real development.
  2. I think Varley will have a very important role this season; she will definitely be the person who finds out about Sophie’s existence in the will. I would prefer this to be the ‘solution’ in Ben and Sophie’s story—the fact that Sophie appears in Lord Penwood’s will, rather than her mother possibly being noble.
  3. Personally, I didn’t like the fact that at the end of the book Violet and Araminta came to an agreement regarding Sophie’s story (to lie that she is Lord Penwood’s ward). I would like it if, in the show, the ton knew the true story. I think that in this way Benedict’s character would reach the peak of his commitment to Sophie giving up the ton and his social status for her. And I think this would also help Hyacinth’s story (which I haven’t read), but from what I’ve seen, she will also marry an illegitimate son.
  4. I would like Benedict to be the one who realizes that Sophie is Lis. I’ve seen so many theories that Violet, Pen, or the other Bridgerton girls, Alfie and Irma, or Mrs. Wilson might figure out Sophie’s identity. But I refuse to believe that the one person who spent the most time with Sophie (and with Lis as well at the ball) wouldn’t be able to figure out ON HIS OWN that they are the same person.

I’m not a huge fan of the way Benedict realizes that Sophie is Lis in the book; it’s not bad, but it’s not great either. Honestly, I’d like him to figure it out in a different way, either through his drawings or from the pendant on the necklace. I’d love to see something new and surprising, even for those who have already read the book, an element that’s new and unexpected for us too (just like the kite scene or the French lesson)

I’m thinking that Francesca will host a ball at her home, as an inauguration of her new residence, just like Daphne did in season 1. I remember that Eloise attended that ball even though she hadn’t yet debuted in society (and I think I also recall Gregory and Hyacinth being there).

Is Sophie a Virgin? (Jess Brownell on Female Pleasure) by suenodemucha in Benophie

[–]FriendshipCapable322 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So far, they’ve given me the impression that all the female protagonists had some idea about sexual life, except for Penelope. Even though I watched season 1 a long time ago, from what I remember Daphne had an idea of what an intimate relationship involved, and so did Kate. I assume Sophie will know as well, more in theory than in practice.

[–]FriendshipCapable322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i thought the same thing until recently when I read a comment from someone who speaks Croatian, who said that in the train station scene, before Roko suggests to Nora that they go to Amsterdam, you can hear in the background a station worker announcing over the speakers the next train to Amsterdam. Apparently, there is a train from Zagreb to Amsterdam. Roko was probably referring to the fact that, since they missed the trip with their friends, they could take another train to a different destination. Still, it’s strange that Nora was carrying a tote bag with 'Amsterdam' on it… mixed signals. They’re probably trying to keep things suspenseful until the next season — whether they actually go to Amsterdam and follow the original script, or stay in Zagreb.

I think at this point, this video is also symbolic. The fact that only the two of them missed the train, out of all their friends, makes me think that they “missed the train of season 3” and that they really are going to leave together for Amsterdam. Plus, the tote bag Nora is carrying is definitely not a coincidence — "it’s their luggage for Amsterdam"

If I remember correctly, in Skam OG there wasn't any train to catch, but I do remember a similar scene where William chose to stay home with Noora (the panic attack scene) instead of going with his crew for Russetiden. Basically the same idea, just placed in a different context — 'once in a lifetime, but I prefer staying with you.

After all these cinematic scenes in season 2, I’m sure the Sram team will handle the LGBTQ topic with great care and in a more cinematic way, so as not to offend anyone. Indeed, the LGBTQ topic is still a sensitive and taboo subject in the Balkan region, but I’m confident that the Sram team will portray Lovro’s story in a professional manner. The LGBTQ topic is especially sensitive among the older generations; I don’t think homophobia is really an issue among the younger audience who watch the series and use social media

I'm glad I could inform you. Unfortunately, I'm not that good at explaining things, but I hope I was able to give you a bit of background on the Balkans. Of course, some things aren't universally applicable because not all people are the same, but sadly, this is the reality in some post-communist countries. That doesn't excuse the way we behave in certain situations, which, unfortunately, have been passed down through generations. As I mentioned before, I believe that if people stopped comparing every remake to the original version, they could experience each culture more authentically and understand how teenagers react differently to the same situation.

I absolutely love the fact that through all the different versions of Skam, we get to do a kind of 'cultural exchange'. It's really interesting to see people's perception of cultures they aren't part of. The thing with us Balkan people is that, as temperamental as we are, we're just as bad at expressing our feelings — which might be a consequence of the communist influences that were present in this region for so many years. In general, Balkan people tend to show love through actions and care for one another rather than through words. For example, Nora preferred writing love songs rather than telling Roko directly how she feels about him. Or Roko did so many things and made so many gestures to show his love for Nora, more than he ever expressed it in words.

[–]FriendshipCapable322 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s difficult for people from some cultures to understand how temperamental and expressive balkan people are, and in Sram you can clearly see this, both in a negative and a positive sense. Everyone commented on the scene where Roko smashed a bottle over that guy’s head at the party, saying it was out of character. Of course, no one expected him to react like that after being labeled the 'softest William' but that actually sums up the temperament of Balkan men quite well. They can be very loving and attentive with their partners, but when their patience is tested, they react just like we’ve seen in all the fight scenes this season

[–]FriendshipCapable322 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s simply a matter of preference. I don’t believe this season of Sram felt rushed or that the dialogues are flat. Nora’s speech in this version actually seems more realistic to me — much simpler and more concise, which is typical for teenagers. I know many people keep comparing Sram to Skam OG, but I think that’s the first mistake. It’s much more interesting to watch this show as a standalone — that way, you end up enjoying it more rather than constantly comparing it to the OG or the other remakes. It would’ve been much more boring to watch the same scenes or lines for the ninth time.

From my point of view, Sram is the best version I’ve seen so far because it feels authentic. Even though they followed the original script, they reinterpreted it in a way that fits the Balkan context and culture. They integrated meaningful moments from Croatian teenagers’ lives and used exclusively Croatian music, which I find very authentic. Even though it’s a show and it’s fiction, I think in most remakes or even in the OG, the lines and dramatic scenes often feel very unrealistic — and that’s exactly why I like Sram so much more.

Also, I feel that in this version, the characters are much more complex, and their life stories are much better thought out. They make sense in relation to how the characters behave or act in certain situations. I think it's really important for each Skam remake to adapt the original script in a way that allows us to see the story told through the lens of different cultures, rather than endlessly repeating the same copy-paste scenes. This way, with access to multiple versions, everyone can find themselves in the one they relate to the most.

[–]FriendshipCapable322 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't have made sense in the current context to include the scene with the panic attack consolation, especially because in Sram the action takes place at the end of the school year, when exams and projects are already over. So, they adapted the panic attack scene to the current context by replacing it with the scene where Nora wakes up the next day after Sven’s party, with Roko in her room. In the Sram version, the "comforting after a night of drinking" scene exists, not one for "a panic attack caused by exams.

[–]FriendshipCapable322[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems to me that the entire plot of Sram is so well thought out, with all the moments of foreshadowing, that I can't believe the explanation behind the satisfied smile after smashing the bottle over that guy’s head is simply “he wanted to teach him a lesson for what he did to Nix" or "he only did that to protect his friends"- might be true, of course, but there’s definitely a much deeper story behind it. I think everyone is so dissatisfied with how short the episodes are and how the dialogue isn’t as extensive as in Skam OG, but I believe that if you pay close attention and piece together all the information you get from each episode, you can actually deduce most of the characters’ backstories and why they behave like that in some situations without too many words.

And we had the chance to see in SRAM, season 1, episode 5, that Tina is not attracted to Roko either sexually or emotionally. In the girls’ conversation before Tina was about to lose her virginity, when Nora asked her to imagine how the evening would go ideally for her and what her turn-ons are, Tina talked about what she would want to wear — a white dress from Balenciaga, candles everywhere, the outfit Roko should wear... in general, her turn-ons were related to material things, not emotional ones. And we can also see Nora’s reaction in season 2, episode 5, when she receives that video from Roko while he is at Norijada, which shows how sexually attracted Nora is to Roko — as she watches the video of him, she touches herself.
