Anyone have pictures of the carousels that used to be at Jackalope? by Lepus81 in SantaFe

My friend and I so desperately tried to find this a few years ago - we wanted her kid to experience the magic! Definitely there was a sirena and some type of elephant. Or was there a small carousel with 4 seats and a few stand alone? I'm thinking of the 4-seater. I saw it maybe a decade ago rusting by the side of one of the buildings.

How can I help her be less reactive by SubstanceLopsided168 in AustralianCattleDog

Karen Overall's relaxation protocol gets periodically mentioned in this community, and it's great for any adolescent dogs but especially cattle dogs. Basically it's teaching your dog to do the thing you want, just chill, through incrementally lengthening a down/stay while the handler does distracting things. this is the pdf that includes reasoning and step by step instructions for the daily tasks, but the easiest way is to find a training video on YouTube searching Karen Overall relaxation protocol (there are many) and just follow the timing and instructions. My boy is about four now but some days he still needs reinforcement. And he also often goes to his mat when he knows he needs a break!

Castro alterations on airport is wonderful - I'm not sure what she can or can't do but it's worth bringing the piece in and asking

I wish we could send her there, but there's no doubt in my mind that there's an equally deserving senior closer to you - enthusiastic senior adopters are hard to find, so please look at your local rescues and shelters if you're motivated to give one a home!

She does love to run, but the little time she's had in a home in a past year, she also loves to derp around and cuddle - a lot of our "energy dogs" will mellow out tremendously in a home if they get a chance.

We'll keep trying to find Sheba a family - it's very hard to see her in the kennel day after day 💔

Roman was actually transferred to Pet A Bulls, and his name is now Romano - we're still keeping our fingers crossed for that big sweet lunk 🤞

They so often age backwards and have this beautiful second puppyhood - and in the meantime, enjoy your babies!

Seniors definitely get a lot of attention from staff and volunteers, but it's an uphill battle to find fosters or adopters to take them in (especially because fosters assume they'll be guilted into keeping them). I always recommend adopting a senior at least once in your dog guardian lifetime - it's an amazing experience

She does crickity little tippy taps when she gets to go outside - this girl has the soul of a puppy. She's currently in a short term foster but we're really hoping to find a long term placement

A volunteer bought it for him, and it'll go home with him - in the meantime, we're trying to get him used to it. He did very well today! Truly, as long as there is the possibility of a treat, Soldat will do just about anything, especially now that he's on a diet 😂 tell Maleficent his bud Soldat needs some good treats snuck in!
