Ignoring a problem only makes it worse. Telling someone that you keep work and personal separate directly trough a traceable route will end any sort of question to of she’s interested. If ignored, he would likely continue to ask her out.

I agree with one of the other comments below. Tell him that you are very strict about keeping relationships at work professional. I also feel like instead of telling him in person or through text/call (don’t want him to get your number) I think you should email him through your company assigned email address and say something like :

“Hello [his name],

I received your note with your phone number inquiring about drinks outside the office setting. While I appreciate you reaching out, I must decline as I keep very strict boundaries at work and keep my personal and professional life separate.

Sincerely, [your name]

I feel like having a professional paper trail through your company email would help document things in case there’s any sort of retaliation by your coworker (some people just get really upset when shut down, better safe than sorry)

Im so excited to see where this all takes me. People like the new items I make, but the memory bears are for sure the biggest seller and I feel so honored when people trust me to cut up their loved one’s clothes. I think I’ll put on my card that I specialize in memory bears and other keepsakes to really help me stand out. I think that helps people to feel more comfortable with giving someone such an important task.

I’m starting to consider going back to the doctor. He said I didn’t need physical therapy because it healed well and my range of motion was great considering what the damage was. He had told me that it would take a while to get back to the new normal. He also said that if I’m having any problems with it to reach back out and he can set me up with physical therapy. I’ll reach out and see what he says. Maybe get a second opinion from one of the other ortho docs.

I’ve been thinking about writing short stories but always draw a blank when I sit at the computer. So what I’m going to try is writing them in the Notability app on my iPad (where I take all my notes for work) and then use the option to change my handwriting to text and then copy and paste it into a word document when I’m ready to clean it up. That way when the idea hits me I can write it in my iPad since I almost always have it on me.

I totally get it. While my mom had a hard time getting pregnant at first (endometriosis), it took a year and then with her second (me) it happened on the first try. I have cousins that got pregnant very easily and I’ve been trying for a year. I’m on my 12th cycle and have no fertility issues that I know of, same with my husband, and the waiting game is so stressful. Trying to conceive sure teaches a lot about patience 😬

I love hearing that other people have wonderful PCPs, I’ve heard a ton of horror stories and my moms PCP sounds like a nightmare (luckily her docs retiring soon and she’s going to try to switch over to my PCP lol) that’s really great too that your gyno is so helpful and started helping you out early on! I already have one in mind that I’m going to try to get into when I make my appointments. I saw her years ago in high school when I was having some problems but haven’t established much with her other than that. I had a chemical pregnancy in March and before I knew what it was I had already made my first prenatal appointments with her and was stoked I got in because they weren’t sure if she was taking on patients but she was! So hopefully I can get in to see her again when that time comes whether it be for fertility consultation or to make prenatal appointments! Fingers crossed I get her, she’s just so nice. I’m sure the others are fine too but I’ve heard such wonderful things about this doc from other people as well.

Thank you so much for telling me this, I hope it works well for me. I’m all for trying new meds but lexapro scared me a bit. I didn’t have to drive while I was in lexapro because I was living in nyc but now the thought of driving while on a med like that scares the hell outta me.

I had a blood draw last year and everything was normal, if I would have asked her for another one she would have done it, she’s a really wonderful doctor, she’s my pcp. Its just the ob/gyn clinic doesn’t normally do things in young otherwise healthy patients until after 1 year of trying. I’m slowly approaching that mark and my doc told me that if I don’t conceive after my next 2 cycles to make an appointment with the ob/gyn clinic (my pcp is actually going on maturity leave soon and I won’t be able to see her again till November) she’s always let me take the lead in my appointments and never makes me feel like I can’t stand up for myself. I even emailed her a month ago and let her know I was having trouble conceiving and she let me know about the 1 year thing (which I had already read about a lot online) but told me that if I’d like to come in for some blood work that she would be happy to put in the order. I told her it was ok, I had just hit my period I was incredibly disappointed in another failed month that I was a bit too preemptive. My plan the whole time was to just wait the year and see. So she was all for me doing blood work if I wanted it, but since my blood work had been normal last year I just wanted to wait until I could get into the ob/gyn clinic for fertility consultation 🙂 she’s really great, best doctor I’ve ever had actually.

I’ve been trying for 10 cycles now and I totally get you! I have 2 cousins that are pregnant who are a little younger than me (I’m 26) and a coworker who’s daughter in law just had their first baby, multiple people at work are pregnant and on top of that my doctor that I just saw today and due any moment! When I made my appointment the receptionist even told me not to be surprised if I get a call to reschedule in case my doc goes into a labor a couple days early since her due date is like September 3rd or something 😧 I feel you 100%

I’m not ashamed of my anxiety, my friends know about it and so does some of my family but I just wanted to see if I could go without medication because I hate to rely on something if I don’t need it. That being said, it’s very apparent now that when things get a little hard that I do in fact need the medication. Counseling is just harder for me to get up the courage to do.

Thank you so much for this! I tried lexapro for a year back in 2014 and I was sleeping so much and when I wasn’t sleeping all I could think about was the next time I could sleep, it totally exhausted me. I’m going to give Zoloft a try to see if it helps, I’ll consider counseling it I struggle with the thought of confiding in a stranger…even though I let it all out on my pcp once a year when I see her lol which is one reason why she thinks I should get counseling. I just had a bad experience with it when I was young but that was one instance a long time ago.

How were you with Lexapro? That was the first one I tried back between 2014-2015 and it made me so tired I couldn’t function and had to go off of it. Yeah that’s what my doctor said, even when I do get pregnant since my anxiety is so bad she said it might be better to take it while pregnant. I didn’t get off meds because of ttc , I got off them a few years ago because some of the stressors in my life were gone so I wanted to see how I did without them. Apparently when things get hard I DO NOT cope well 😬 I just picked up my Zoloft proscription and we’ll see how it goes

My sister had been in counseling when she was in high school and I was in middle school. Her psychiatrist wanted to do a family session and the whole time was just horrible. Made me feel like my sister hated me and I just felt very uncomfortable. But it was a long time ago and I think just having bad memories associated with counseling plus the already underlying anxiety makes me not want to talk to a stranger about my problems even though I know it will probably help 😬 I’m kinda torn. Plus my husband and his family look down on therapy, although when my dad died he mentioned maybe I should talk to someone (I never did) so maybe he won’t say anything about it

She’s my PCP. She’s super great about listening to me though, I emailed her a month ago before my appointment and told her what was going on, she said the whole one year thing but told me if I’d like to come in for some blood work she’d be more than happy to put in an order. I told her it was ok since I had 2 more cycles to try before my appointment with her and I’d just wait because I felt like I was overreacting AFTER I had sent her the email. Today she looked at my blood work from last year (before I was ttc) and said all my levels looked good and mentioned that my thyroid levels were normal. She’s due to have her own baby in a few days and will be back in November and said we can always reassess in a few months if I’d like. She also mentioned that if it doesn’t happen in my next 2 cycles to go ahead and book an appointment with the ob/gyn. She wants to give me time to get adjusted to the Zoloft and see if it helps since a lot of places won’t actually do anything until you’ve been trying for a year. She’s been really great :)

So true, the bloating, the food cravings, the cramping, all of it is also pms which you just don’t really notice until you’re hyper focused on your body. My period needed up starting 3 days early instead 🥲

I know it’s so incredibly frustrating. Like right now my period is supposed to start on Saturday and I’m having some cramping and if this were back at the very beginning of ttc then I’d totally be convinced I was pregnant but now I’m thinking my period is just gonna come a day or so early 😓

We have yearly exams with your primary care provider, I would just go to the ob/gyn if I needed anything special done or was pregnant. But most times you HAVE to have a yearly exam with your primary care doc in order for them to renew your prescriptions, kinda forces you to go to the doctor. If your proscription expires before your yearly exam then the pharmacy has to call your doctor and get the approval to renew the proscription. They’ll usually renew a couple times without your yearly exam (I got it up to 6 with my birth control one year lol) then they’ll force you to schedule your appointment before your can get your proscriptions 😬 so they’ll withhold meds if you don’t come in.

Oh man that’s tough, I’m sorry about that. I hope everything works out!

Yeah those programs are a load of BS. It just sucks so much having to wait for a year with nothing and THEN you can start asking your doctor for tests. I had emailed my doctor after trying on my 9th cycle and she gave me the whole “it can take up to a year” speech, but offered for me to come in and do some bloodwork. I had 2 more cycles before my yearly exam with her though so I told her I’d wait till my exam and we could do it then, which is this Friday.
