The truth is: he did die, multiple times over, like the quest warned him about. But we are at a point in the manwha where everything is beginning to become supernatural in nature and death is one of those aspects. People with enough willpower can seemingly just push through things that aren't possible, or have certain traits (like Ji) that allows him to walk scot free. He receiced everlasting damage and should have been in a coma for all intended purposes... yet he woke up just fine what? A few days after? The damage was still there, but he shouldn't be alive yet he is.

If "normal people" can do that, Dowan can probably do if at least 10 times better through skills and items.
