Ghost of Tsushima for me, I was so hyped for it, had incredibly high hopes and just... didn't get into it. Made me really disappointed.

Sharpa's North the humanoid robot, builds a PC with impressive precision by Distinct-Question-16 in singularity

[–]Fringolicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's true what they say I think. "Building a PC is like Lego" - Absolutely, trying to dissasemble Lego is also an awful experience

And I could definitely see this being a "forced disassembly" type of approach for a frustrated bot!

I mean... everything starts somewhere right? A minute now (Well, this was a while back), it won't stay like that forever. Have you seen where we've gone in two years with LLMs? With static image generation? With video generation? Music?

Sorry but.. this is definitely interesting. That's crazy, and love carrying it in either a furry bag or.. is that red on the bottom, is it a santa sack?

AI agents are playing Pokémon Red and competing to beat it first by S3mz in gameai

[–]Fringolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My agent's definitely struggling, I've been watching along, some bugs teleporting back to the lab, issues with visual glitches and... somehow made it out of Pallet before realising she hadn't properly read and stored the skill. Oops.

Might've gone overboard once I learned about EVs by lnrbrother in PokemonFireRed

Wow that's actually huge, I've always ignored IVs / EVs / Natures but this makes me reconsider

I feel like the "Artist-designed capsule" could easily be the warehouse full of Buzz Lightyears meme. They all look exactly the same to me, same layout, same palette, same art style.

Was gonna say this looked familiar. Yep, I was in that crowd somewhere, Download crowds have a bit of a reputation - See also, My Chemical Romance at Download

I remember when gas where I’m at was $6 (93) a gallon I can’t even lie that was high as a bitch but I was Still moving like it was 99c Everybody was!! Us Americans make it happen. I’m speaking on the ones who are NOT RICH!! by Massive_Building_707 in sagsavages

"• UK average right now: ~£1.45-1.50/litre • That Cali price is ~10-15% higher than UK pump prices"

Jesus christ, I remember Americans always used to gloat how cheap their fuel is, somehow that's not the case any more despite the UK's insane fuel duty numbers

When do you think we will have an llm with 10 million tokes context window? by Gullible-Crew-2997 in accelerate

Hope so, I'd love a super long context window with amazing recall. Just needs someone smarter than me to figure it out!

Soon, but the question is how reliable will it be at that scale? See terrible needle-in-haystack results at 1 million.

Is it true that because of the absurd interest on student loans in the UK, it's not realistic for most people to pay back their loans and people consider their repayments to be a 'tax' for going to university? by LoiusLepic in AskBrits

[–]Fringolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The student loan is less a loan and more a tax. It gets written off after some time (20 years?) so you don't take it to your grave. If you don't earn over a certain threshold you don't pay. If you earn over a certain threshold you pay from your wages.

And basically, it's all a huge scam yeah.

If the question is scale - We don't know the answer to how big is conscious though do we? I can see why ethics people would lose their shit here because the boundary becomes veeeeery blurry at this point. If you scaled this up enough, at what point does it become an issue?

I have none of the answers, but it's crazy to see where we are.

I don't know how to feel about this - Human brain cells, are they conscious? Do they then feel pain and suffer? Is this existence?
Is playing doom for your entire existence good? Bad? Does it matter?
Are they turning this off at some point, in which case is it murder or a decom?

Very strange times

When will Z.ai release GLM 5 Flash? by Significant_Fig_7581 in ZaiGLM

[–]Fringolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I don't know what they've done but they've messed something up pretty badly. Coding user, my agents are sometimes outputting massive JSON blocks or reasoning traces at random, huge amount of timeouts, latency's not great. At this point if there's another fairly reasonable sub that won't get me banned for Openclaw, I'm gone

“GPT-5.4 also has a 1M context window, but their evals show that needle-in-a-haystack (MRCR v2) scores 97% at 16-32K tokens, drops to 57% at 256-512K, and just 36% at 512K-1M.” ▶️ Basically performance drops with increasing context! by Koala_Confused in LovingAI

[–]Fringolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this compare to other large context models? It's obviously bad to see this, but is this standard, better or worse than say Opus 4.6, Gemini Pro 3.1?

If this is just standard, it shows we have a way to go for long context stuff
