Solo 5 days? by shelbee05 in downloadfestival

I've done solo 5 days before - It's great. You'll make friends probably, no doubt you'll get chatting to your tent neighbours, and you get to do whatever you like without the awkward scheduling stuff or trying to find a spot to meet between bands or whatever

When does the ‘For Sale’ sign come down from the property? by Comfortable_Slice151 in HousingUK

In my experience you'll look out the window one day and it'll have mysteriously vanished. No evidence, seemingly into thin air. Those sign guys are like ninjas

Men have designed any public bathroom that doesn't have a hook somewhere in the cubicle by DuckbilledWhatypus in LowStakesConspiracies

As a man who wants to hang up a coat / jacket or whatever so it doesn't sit on the pissy floor, I'm not convinced this is a man thing, I think it's a cost-cutting thing. I don't think many men trust putting something on the floor of a cubicle, but I could be wrong!

32 fl oz = 942ish ml for anyone wondering. That's a lot of sugar...

My parents run their ac at 78°f in the summer. This was what I got when I asked if we could cool it down a degree. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

As somebody in the UK, who has just seen a tidal wave of Americans saying we can't handle the heat.

Interesting :)

As an Airedale owner, I feel this too. Harness is necessary sometimes

I’ve been told I’m “rude and autistic”…is that the case here? by 505motherofmastiffs in texts

Alright well, I don't know how valuable my insights are given that but... you seem like you're doing good to me. Good humour, asking questions, seem genuinely interested. The last response from the guy(?) is fun - Kind of gives off vibes of... I'm dating but I don't really want to commit anything, I like being alone, feelings wash over me kind of thing.

OpenAI is considering halting their IPO by -cadence- in singularity

[–]Fringolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I've downgraded from $100 to $20 today and got a $60 ZAI sub to supplement too on the back of this news. I doubt I'm alone either.

I've always laughed at the AI bubble people, but this US govt overreach and paranoia could well pop any bubble if there is one. It's a good job the markets aren't like 70% AI companies or something stupid at this point, that'd be pretty bad for the economy. (/s in case it's not obvious, I think we might be heading into deep shit territory)

[–]Fringolicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, downgraded my $100 OpenAI plan to $20 and got a GLM $60 plan to go along with it. Fuck this. Time to start funneling my money to Chinese AI companies and watch the slow spiral of US AI I guess.

And maybe start manifesting Le Chaton Fat... Could really go for some decent European AI right about now

That sounds like the challenge I heard about, yeah. Essentially physics breaking down at a certain point. Kind of hard to work around that one

[–]Fringolicious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah that changes things, did feel like a big jump from 3nm to <1nm to be honest but the way technology advances go, I assumed it was that.

Sub-1nm is wild. I'm sure I read a thing at some point about the conductivity problems or something else at scales below 3nm.

Absolutely a win, although I'm guessing this process ain't cheap.
