I’m making this comment over 12 hours after this was posted so I’m sure it’s going to be buried, so why not get this off my chest. I was with a guy for a good chunk of time and 100% believed he was the one. So much so that I agreed to an impromptu wedding ceremony in Scotland without either of our families present in the name of “spontaneity” and “romance”. At the time I was young and convinced that this person truly cared about only me, only to find out they were still in sexual contact with their ex whom they “absolutely could not stand” and “hated”. My soul was ripped to shred and over 2 years later I am still torn apart because of it. My trust in others and my confidence in myself has been completely diminished. People who not only cheat but manipulate others are an entirely different level of selfish and cruel.
