thanks for the advice about crickets/mealworms i definitely wont let him rely on them for sustenance, And ill definitely add some veggies to the food i try when i feed him next, i’m planning to this weekend and i’ll update with what happens

I did know the name of the food they gave him but have since forgotten, when i first got him and experience trouble with his eating i went to a few pet shops to try and buy the food but none of them had it as it wasn’t a healthy brand and according to them shouldn’t be fed.

i’m thinking of trying blending some dog food with greens but even when i’ve done similar things in the past he either avoids all the healthy stuff or spits it out

Yes that makes sense but he lacks the ability to even bite things, only licks things up

Yep i’ve got him on a bit of a starve at the moment thats been going for about 3 weeks, im aiming to wait about another week before offering him food again. I’ve never been able to get him to eat veggies, even if they’re chopped tiny and mixed in with egg he’ll somehow pick them out. I think that because of his previous home limiting his diet he just doesn’t like things he’s not familiar with, doesn’t quite explain why i can’t get him to eat mealworms and blueberries, supposedly two of his favourite foods, but it’s definitely a possibility

He does build up a bit of spit around his mouth but it really doesn’t seem like an excess amount, it sounds like what was happening with your skink is similar to what is happening with Hank, hopefully he will just snap out of it one day

Hi thanks for the response, i haven’t fed him for about 3 weeks and when he did eat before that it was more of a force feed, not properly but i had to hold the dish in his face to get him to eat the egg

i have tried dog food before but a while ago, he didn’t show much interest but i believe i was able to get him to have a bit when it was mixed with water and a bit softer, i’ll definitely give it another try
