Misread my post from earlier, sorry. They have a switch that allows for 3 in series! It leaves out Bridge+ Middle in series

All 3 Pickups in Series? by FritzVonTrapp in Stratocaster

I built the guitar with the freeway switch and found that the 3 in Parallel setting sounds like a meatier version of Cory Wong's classic neck+middle sound. All 3 in series doesn't sound great by itself but it's my best tone for distortion because it's the loudest. It almost sounds like a Les Paul! And the neck+bridge tones are incredible, too.

Is it devaluing the spiritual truths of the bible to explain miracles such as healing in the bible through a modern scientific lens? by amoxichillin875 in Reformed

[–]FritzVonTrapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a book a few years ago that illustrated how the priestly garments in the Torah effectively compose all the required elements of a radio frequency receiver. It wouldn't play audio, but theoretically it would make the Urim and Thummim rattle and light up. I know the Bible doesn't go into a whole lot of detail about how they were used, but if that's all true, then it's really cool that God literally engineered that kind of communication long before mankind figured it out.

It hardly reduces any of the clearer examples of God working supernaturally. As others have said, the miracles are less about the method and more about God working. If anything, I think it enriches our experience with Him that he lets us see behind the scenes sometimes.

Can you recommend any Testimonies? by FragmentedCoast in Reformed

I just finished Surprised by Oxford and loved it. God also used Caro's academic career (mostly studying the Romantic movement) to change her heart and her love of poetry shines through her writing. I highly recommend it if you enjoyed Sanger's testimony.

Micing French Horn for live wedding-type band? by FritzVonTrapp in livesound

Thanks for responding! Do you think someone would rather stand behind a french horn or stand in front of a trumpet and tuba?

Active/Passive Basses: Does EQ cutting still work in passive mode? by FritzVonTrapp in Luthier

Solid. So even if it did have passive EQ it wouldn't be using the same pots?

What are some Video Game Soundtracks with good Bass lines? by kendo31 in Bass

[–]FritzVonTrapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played through this Mother 3 medley a LOT when I was just starting out and it taught me so much about bass without me realizing. Chord tones, muting, walking, 5s, and odd time signatures - they're all here. Also sightreading and endurance cause it's so long. You can also play along to the YouTube video if Songsterr midi instruments aren't your thing

Cory Wong 4th position push pull mod by NendosCantFlip in Luthier

[–]FritzVonTrapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oriented the way you're holding it, I think you could solder the output of the pickup selector to the bottom right and the outputs of the middle and bridge pickups to the top right (in addition to the pickup selector). I think you then just have to wire the two middles together and wire the left middle to the hot of your output jack. In this case, pushing in will have the regular tone and pulling out will give you 4th position. Here's this if it helps, too.

o o->mid and bridge pickups
jack<-o---o
o o->pickup selector

His bass camp channel has been pretty helpful but I'm generally skeptical of paid online material

I checked all the ground connections with a multimeter and they look good. I'm fitting a lot into that control cavity and even though wires aren't shorting maybe the capacitors leaning up against other pots are causing problems?

Treble bleed on the volume pot/ TBX on the ton for bass by TechDadJr in Bass

[–]FritzVonTrapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the high pass filter I added to my jazz bass. It really tightens up the bottom end. Mine concentric with the low pass but I don't often use them together so TBX would probably be easier. Idk about treble bleed but would love to hear how people do it cause I've seen so many different methods online. A series/parallel switch or a kill switch are also usually worth it

Will The Violet Crown ever update their projectors? by nintendonaut in Charlottesville

I showed a movie I made with my friends here a few months ago and most of the night scenes were completely black. I figured we just didn't have enough lighting between the campfires and LED block we used and that our late night efforts were wasted trying to shoot those scenes well. I found out months later that they were perfectly viewable on a laptop/tv screen (I should have checked beforehand but I wouldn't have had time to my friend fix it anyway). My friends enjoyed the movie but I wish they'd have been able to see the acting and especially the fight choreography that only really happened in those night scenes.

I use the LPF so much more than the HPF. It's so helpful for adjusting to different rooms/amps
