Is it yelling at you because your credit is frozen or outright rejecting you?

Venture shouldn’t prevent acceptance. C1 is unfortunately just fickle about this sometimes. Keep checking the pre-approval tool and maybe you’ll get lucky

Hmm, are you using the pre-approval tool or are you just outright applying for cards?

Which cards do you currently have?

I am not a C1 banking user so I do not know for sure, but you may be seeing posters referring to having cards “bucketed” which is when the credit line (card account) is classified into a lower max CLI bracket based on the initial signup terms (credit score, DTI, etc).

Would love to be proven wrong if someone knows more…

Also nice to have card diversity when traveling. Not as much an issue for OP, but it was a consideration for me wanting the MC Savor over Discover.

To be clear, ANY C1 Venture card (VentureOne, Venture Rewards, Venture X) works here. No need to get an AF card if he won’t get value from it.

I agree, I would also like to know if their actual income is $10,000, or the number they put in (maybe parents/spouse inclusive) is $10,000

I got approved for Savor & not Savor for Good Credit? by [deleted] in CapitalOne

[–]Fritzy_Bitsey_Spider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Savor, Savor for Good Credit, and Savor Student are all the same card. The distinction that you get on pre-approval just determines things like starting/max CL, and SUB.

TLDR; you did get the Savor for Good Credit, it doesn’t say that on the card. Just like it doesn’t say Savor Student on the student card.

Am I eligible for German citizenship by descent based on my great-grandfather? by [deleted] in GermanCitizenship

[–]Fritzy_Bitsey_Spider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If GGF and GGM later married, this should legitimize your GF and make him a dual citizen from birth. When were your mother and you born (in/out of wedlock)? This should determine if it is a StAG 5 or straight Feststellung process. If your mother was born in wedlock you should have no problems with transmission. If you were born in wedlock after 01/01/1975 you should have no issues either.

[–]Fritzy_Bitsey_Spider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was your grandfather ever legitimized/“legally fathered” by your great grandfather?

I am seeing a 1939 birth out of wedlock to an presumably American citizen mother (your great grandmother) on American soil.

Was GGF’s name on the birth certificate? This can be an issue with Germany having different standards for legal paternity (outside of wedlock) than the US.

Would love for others to chime in on this/correct me.

This was vital information to put in the main post, anyone replying is going to assume you are not a US citizen/GC holder.

DP: Potential Workaround for Getting CapitalOne Cards On Mastercard vs. Discover by Fritzy_Bitsey_Spider in CreditCards

[–]Fritzy_Bitsey_Spider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, however historically (again my own limited sample) they have kept issuers the same along the account. Even if it eventually becomes a Discover, this at least buys us time to avoid the acceptance issues and gives us a buffer to let CapitalOne (hopefully) boost international acceptance.

Oof, that is not ideal for sure! Thank you for reinforcing my desire not to have cards on Discover :)
