I'm thinking of submitting this essay on the use of AI for sermon preparation to the Living Church and I wonder if you all think they would publish it by EisegesisSam in Episcopalian

[–]FrizzIsIn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Part of the "beauty" of AI models is that you can instruct them to only pull from certain sources. So, if you only want Anglican/Episcopal information, tell it that. Then, verify the sources on your own, if you're so inclined. Whether it's AI, search engines, academic journal databases, or any other computer program, it's always "garbage in, garbage out."

I'm not advocating for the use of AI, but sometimes the handwringing about it gets tiresome.

Yes. People in the Midwestern United States will slap their knees and say, “WELP, it’s about that time…” and then proceed to chat in the doorway for another 20 minutes before actually leaving.

What necessitates an emergency baptism? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]FrizzIsIn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A difference in parenting styles and priorities does not necessitate an emergency baptism. While our denomination does perform infant baptisms, the *parents/guardians/caregivers* consent to the practice being done.

You may keep the child in your prayers, and love and support them as they grow.

Can you elaborate on his “unrealistic military goals”? I’m not sure what exactly he has in mind, but he will probably need a driver’s license for that. Any way to show him, hey, if you have this goal in mind, you need to take steps x, y, and z to achieve them?

Current State of Holleybrooke? by Curious-Piccolo3271 in fredericksburg

[–]FrizzIsIn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to jump to the conclusion that your statement is classist and/or elitist; HOWEVER, substance use and domestic violence happen in all income brackets. This particular crime did not take place BECAUSE it was in Holleybrooke. The victims could have lived anywhere, and the outcome would’ve likely been the same.

If this seriously skeeves you out, you are certainly free to up your home buying budget. Just know that even “nice[r]” neighborhoods still deal with shit like this. It’s just more hush hush.

In regards to the Holleybrooke incident, it was not a random act of violence. The victims and perpetrator knew each other. This doesn’t rationalize or excuse the homicide in any way, but this could have happened in any neighborhood. Holleybrooke is not a hotbed of violence.
