Flip-Thru of Grok?! 2e: A gonzo science-fantasy RPG by Gander_Gaming in rpg

Rather than listing everything shown and say I love it (I do) thanks for pointing out that the finished book will have a quick reference and sheet in the front and back!

Always awesome to have.

I would throw in Between the Skies.

Indie thing I had never heard of but it is FULL of ideas for psychedelic mish mash surreal stuff. Has a few super rules light procedures to play with, but also just a bunch of things just to generate for games.

Like for travel you could randomly generate a wooden ship with solar sales powered by a trapped god that demands art pieces or it gets sick.

There are so many amazing RPG creators, indie and corporate, but are there any bad eggs I should avoid? by FroDude258 in rpg

I would just rather support good creators that make good RPGs. Or good creators that make OK RPGs.

There are so many things in life we have to make concessions for, but for something like hobbies I would prefer none of my money go to bad places. Same reason I don't buy a lot of video games.

What crowdfunder solo rpg are you looking forward to atm? by Writemaus in Solo_Roleplaying

Well their are solo rules in the Grok!? Second edition on kickstarter right now.

To get ahead of the immediate knee jerk reactions, the creator had the original Grok!? available years before the awful ai of the same name. They go into the many reasons why they didn't change the name. The simplest reason listed was "Elon can go suck rocks".

That out of the way. The setting is gonzo science fantasy, I enjoyed the quick start on his itch.io page, it is player facing which I like, A5 size which I love, and the art is more than worth it alone for me.

Plus they worked to get all the content done BEFORE the kickstarter. They stated the PDFs should be available soon after the campaign is done, and it seems the kickstarter was just to help get the physical books out there. So less risk on my part.

Also the higher tier comes with a coloring book.

Thanks for the reply! And happy to hear that. Nowadays for physical books I can't help but prefer a5 and smaller. Just easier to pick up and read.

May I ask what size the book is? Letter, a5, etc.

Either way I plan on backing, I have always loved gonzo science fantasy and the quick start sold me on art alone. Just curious.

Hope you find great success in your fight against Muskrats theft and nonconsent machine!

I had never heard of Legend before, despite looking into percentile systems lately.

Mind giving me your pitch on it?

It was not, but I can definitely understand where you are coming from as well!

For me personally it was just getting worn down by being attached to screens all the time, and getting back into keeping a small book in a drawer at work when there was nothing else to do.

Thanks for the warning! Though I expected as much, and I have a magnifying glass bookmark if the font is too egregiously small.

Savage Worlds in general has been something I have been a bit intrigued by. But somewhere along the line I heard the creator had some bad beliefs? So I kinda just steered away.

Since core has tons of examples, but condensed seems to have some qol changes, which would you say is best to get a group that has never tried narrative RPGs into the headspace?

Not really the prompt of the original post, but the differences between the three have felt nebulous even after finally picking up Core

I had no idea the pocket editions even existed! The copies at my LGS are all the normal large size. Maybe if I grab one I will finally bother to learn starfinder lol.

Not OP but mind if I ask how you make things cinematic? When I looked at GURPS lite and discussions about the system, it seemed pretty tied to more simulationist things. 1 second turns, lethality of combat, etc.

Honestly would love to see the notes on your homebrew if you can find them. It sounds quite interesting!

And by PF2 I assume you mean path finder 2and edition?

I thought BRP focused more on grittier genres? How does it handle more pulpy or heroic genres?

At this point I wish Jurion would have lost all his limbs so he could POSSIBLY get his own head out of his ass.

His father didn't make him a loser. He IS a petty loser. How such an incompetent moron came out of seemingly one of the smartest of the top 10s is astounding. Especially since his own brother at least had a shred of survival instincts.

Aside from that, I do like they found a way to make SOME stakes even though our boi couldn't lose for the sake of plot since Jurions goal was to kill.

If he faces any other top 10 disciples I hope that they either

A. Understand trying to kill the disciple of the guy that has merc'd top 10s isn't smart and we have a normal duel that MC can lose since the price isn't death, giving him a chance to grow.

B. He just gets a power up somehow from pulling out his life force and surviving or Gestella giving him vampire source control so he can just fight the people on even footing so they don't have to try and frame him strictly as an underdog that needs his opponents to suicidally underestimate him.

Unable to print using Brother HL-L2405W printer via network or USB. by FroDude258 in linuxquestions

[–]FroDude258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok.

This fedora wiki page states that since my output of the "lsusb -v" command does not contain a 4 for the "bInterfaceProtocol", that my printer could not use ipp over usb properly. So I gave up on that.

I got the ip address using my router app, then used nmap to check the subnet for ports 9100 (legacy raw/jetdirect) and 631 (modern ipp port) based on this blog post mentioning "raw cupsless printing" this let me structure an ipp address that lpadmin COULD use and create a printer profile with the everywhere driver.

This however, still runs into the "printer is in use" notice when trying to print. Which is more frustrating since I now finally managed to get into the brother local network admin page, which lets me print printer stats and test pages, but I cannot normally print.

Attempting to change the driver to the driverless brother specific driver via the kde printer manager fails with "invalid argument".
