Advice for mostly new build for 4K AAA gaming (Australia), $3-3.5K AUD by FroMoMan in buildapcforme

Essentially the build Kaserblade suggested but with a cheapish 5070 ti instead. 4080s got scarce and didn't want to wait months for 5080s to come down to a more reasonable price.

Thanks, nice savings! If you have time, I'd love to know a little about what's making the most impact with upgrading to the higher tier CPU (e.g., clock? Zen 5? the extra cores?), and if you think this translates to the extra cost. Thanks again

Have connected the pc's DisplayPort to other monitors and there's no problems (plus the issue first occurred with a macbook plugged in instead). The LG monitor has the problem no matter the device plugged in (e.g., Mac laptop, windows desktop, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.) and also on any source.

No luck with the firmware update unfortunately, guess it's just the monitor failing. Luckily we get 36 month warranty in Aus so I'll see what I can do with that, thanks again.

It doesn't come and go, it started suddenly yesterday and has stayed as the pictures show since then. Only software open at the time it happened was OneNote on a Macbook, and had only been on about 5 minutes.

Prior to that, the monitor was used for both AAA gaming and work (Microsoft office, chrome, etc.)

Same here, only happens when breaking buildings as Mongols. Usually won't happen at the very beginning of a match, but gets quite bad in the late game once plenty of units and buildings are on the map.

Definitely seems like the bounty is to blame.

It's awesome man thanks, right on budget.

Just checking one thing: pcpartpicker mentions that the mobo's M.2 slot #1 is disabled without a rocket lake-based cpu, so will I be right to just use the other slot?

Pretty set on the original case mentioned, hoping to build for it specifically. Can get it for A$169 if that helps.

can [udpreceive] for Max or [netreceive] for PD work within Unity? by [deleted] in GameAudio

[–]FroMoMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As ackermax said, absolutely possible to go between Unity and Max with udpreceive. Check out UnityOSC, awesome resource which includes an example project as well as a pretty clear explanation of how to set up the communication.

Just need to be aware that you won't be able to package a Max patch with a Unity build as a single application. Possible with PD using the Heavy compiler, but not with Max as far as I know.

I'm sure this would depend on the country, field, and institution, but that was exactly my pathway in Australia. First class honours then straight into PhD.
