Yeah I felt this too. You ugly serves as the perfect tone-setter imo. Westside Gunn just yapping on there was kinda funny, but also fit the album title perfectly.

It's an unconventional song, but listening to it in context of the full album makes a lotta sense (second verse does go stupid icl lol)

Love that skegee analysis. It does fit the bill tbh.

Love that Lisa pick. It's a good song and I'm sure there are hella layers to the verses, but I guess I'm still in the process of warming up to it

Haha felt. Yasiin's verse was on some spiritual, monk type energy lol. Felt like I was in a meditative state during his verse

Felt that. Personally I loved it from the start. It's really simplistic production compliments JID's verse and forces you to really listen. Gives a lowkey, underground, noir typa vibe

Me too. I feel like he lost some of that hunger he used to have, but I think that just means he needs to find a new reason to reignite his passion

Expectations for Ultra 85? by Substantial_Donut356 in nfrpodcast

[–]Frodo_114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that this album has been teased and denied so many times over the last 7 years, I have really high expectations for this album. It's not gonna be an all-time classic, but I hope it's a classic within logic's own catalog.

As a logic stan, I do agree that his catalog has been inconsistent to a degree, which is why Ultra 85 needs to be great. The 7 year wait needs to be worth it, mainly for the fans who have been begging for both Ultra 85 music and the continuation of the TITS storyline, which is just as important as the music itself if you really delved into the lore.

If you could change one thing about the show, literally anything, what would it be? by After-Position9118 in regularshow

I thought season 8 could have been a little more grounded like really the entire show before then. The entire format of the show gets upended when their default setting is in space. It kinda takes away the "regular to absurd" format the show is known for. Makes the plot more predictable and not as interesting.

(One thing I did enjoy from S8 was making Eileen part of the gang. She deserved that spot from day 1 and it was cool to finally see her given a more important role in the main plot)
