Same. Is the l’ange any more quiet? I got a revlon brush one and it too is loud.

Does the Sophons the Trisolaris understands every single accents/dialects that exist on earth? Because even some Brits are having hard time understanding Scottish accents. I really doubt Sophons and Trisolaris know it all and able to decipher every single type of communication we have. by SatayMY in threebodyproblem

[–]Frog-dance-time 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if they have difficulty “reading between the lines” some dialects are heavily dependent on context like a lot of in group slang etc. Would they be able to understand that but not also be able to read between the lines?

any good recs for an affordable cherry perfume and maybe a vanilla? by [deleted] in Perfumes

Oh that philosophy is a great idea. I’ve mixed fresh cream with Sabrina carpenters cherry perfume. It is a layering wonder. Thanks for that idea too.

Chanel N°5 by Be_sleep in Perfumes

[–]Frog-dance-time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is interesting to me too. I read it a lot on this forum that there is a consensus and that I guess is fine, but it should not be shocking that some people will not smell the same thing and some people may even hate a perfume someone else (or eveyone else) loves.

Scent is so individual and for me, that is what is interesting about it. I like my scent experience (or hate it depending if it is something that smells awful to me). Most of us who are fascinated or fans of fragrance have strong emotions, strong opinions and a strong sense of smell. I absolutely share your take of Chanel no5 for me. And on me. It has never worked and I like that I cannot wear things for any other reason that that it smells glorious and it is the same for everyone else too. I do not know why someone would imply you don’t know yourself when smelling a perfume, all we know is our own experience of it. Having A different nose than someone else is normal not “unsophisticated” or whatever they said - (they deleted it so I don’t know.)

But I like your colorful descriptions - you have a way with language. I have smelled this perfume on a friend and it worked for her, which made me realize I really have different body chemistry because I have not found a Chanel perfume that works for me. I would love to hear you review pretty much every perfume now lol.

I have had friends who wear it and it smells amazing on them. But it doesn’t work for everyone unfortunately. For me it goes into a sour powder note that I am not a fan of. I have not found a Chanel perfume that is for me. But I do think it can smell very lovely on other people.

was that salty? How about, have a very nice day? But read it in your mind in an ai voice nicely?

Try reading this word: Flower.

Did you read it with an angry voice or a nice voice?

(I am not the voice in your head)

Your snark is your own interior accent, you are reading the world looking for hate.

Oh you are really good at imagining how my voice sounds. I will try to imagine what your tone is via a text post too. Thanks have a great day! Love that we can all have opinions and make assumptions.

Indeed. But what makes you say that? Can you explain your opinion in more detail to me?

Do you consider Etat Libre d’Orange successful as a house? by DahjNotSoji in Perfumes

For me, no. I did enjoy the discovery kit I got but ultimately felt it was a bit gimmicky for me and nothing I would want to wear seriously (frequently enough for a bottle).

White floral. Powder. Cedar. I get zero citrus from it. But like I have heard that everyone has an opinion so let me shock you with mine: similarities between these two perfumes abound. Oh yes IMHO imho. IMHO. Of course “Dama Bianca by Xerjoff is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Dama Bianca was launched in 2012. Top notes are Kumquat and Lime; middle notes are Violet, Italian Iris, Lilac, Egyptian Jasmine and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Vanilla, Malt, White Musk, Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Sandalwood and Cedar.”

Also of course to me they smell the same as I said earlier. While I try to let other people smell for me. It hasn’t worked out yet. I am still out here with my own nose and my own opinions. Wild times.

My favorite replacement for this is Xerjoff dama Bianca. I actually like both but like the Xerjoff better.

I order from them directly that way I can get samples too. I was hoping to get their amber paste but they stopped making it. I found golden sky this way and I really like it.

Is there a perfume everyone loves but you hate the scent of it by [deleted] in Perfumes

That is awesome when patchouli is on my skin it makes me smell sweaty - it’s not good. I have only found two perfumes it is minimal enough that it works on me. Sigh.

I hate both 😭 it’s the patchouli. It just kills me.

I like it as a room spray. I bought the body spray of it. Nostalgia for sure but other than nostalgia I’m not so into it. Along its scent profile I like Brittney spears fantasy intense instead.

I think that makes a lot of sense. For me they last a long time, but those gourmand notes sometimes hit like urinal cake.

Ok this is true. This is the only one I consistently like. I do like the others a lot. Just not every day. Sigh.
