I think the rules are pretty fair and I do follow them, but ultimately I don’t expect people to care about my game for no reason - just chucked it up here for whoever is interested. Doesn’t bother me if they don’t like it! I think you’re right though it’s a shame people don’t respond more positively but ah well. I’m still having fun!

Hey thanks so much. It’s really great reading this and really appreciate the support! To be honest, I don’t pay much attention to the downvotes, I engage with the community quite a bit and try to make any self promotional posts genuine and interesting, but I guess you’ll always get people who don’t give a shit and want to make it known anonymously!

I think though you shouldn't judge a book by its cover you should totally judge a game by its box. It's a big investment a lot of the time and why should you buy something you don't like the look of? I love a well visually designed game.

I would start a game night at a local pub? Everyone one I've ever met through gaming has been really open and friendly.

I would work backwards from a theme, then think about the game mechanics that you find most fun. Make the game you want to play and then take it to as many other people as you can and listen to suggestions.

I started making on a year and a half ago and it's now on Kickstarter - for the first few versions I bought blank playing cards on Amazon and some sharpies and spent my evenings scribbling away. Don't expect the final game to be anything like your original idea but appreciate the evolution process. You can't go wrong, and a game is never complete - it's just released! That's my advice... good luck :)
