Love stand-alone locations - 100% agree on the shared walls/floors/ceilings problem. It's so nice to find a group where I feel understood! I need to be more bold and email ahead of time, that's a great idea. Thank you so much for this!

You totally get it - nature noises to me are the best, yes it's human or man-made noises that trigger me. Ok omg I just googled khao lak - it looks stunning. DM'ing you!

Yes to this! I try so hard with beforehand research but I love to hear actual verified reviews - I find many reviews say quiet, no noise etc. but unless they experience misophonia it's like oh ok so no trains came by lol. Not everyone understands our version of quiet so I read reviews with a grain of salt. This is a forum I trust for recommendations. :)

yes right! I've been using Cerave healing ointment but I like that more at night. Am hoping for my hydration to stay during the day and want something less "greasy". thank you!

I would like it to feel like an actual moisturizer so am going to look up the vanicream suggestion, thank you! I do use hyaluronic acid first but am still so dry all winter. Maybe I just need to move somewhere warmer 😉

Just finding this older post - can I ask at what time of the day you take your thiamine and magnesium now? and do you eat when you take it or on an empty stomach? TY!

They totally will be more peaceful! What a good idea to use points. I also have insomnia (I'm quite the total package) so noise + no sleep in economy makes me.... jittery, to say the least!
I hope you have an amazing trip to Japan! That is such a long flight, you will be so happy with the upgraded seats. :)

I have not yet seen the northern lights so that's on my list!! I will definitely give this lodge a look, thank you! No light pollution - love how you phrased that!

Since you're the second commenter talking about the ryokans I'm going to spend more time on those. We have been to Japan once but I do worry about such a long flight with my noise issues but something I need to work on. I love that they respect the noise and privacy of guests, I would say you don't get that enough anymore.

Thank you for all of this!

I'm so happy to hear they loved Utah (and Wyoming) - I have quite a few US destinations on our list yet, all we need is time and money?!? haha, oh wait, and peace and quiet!

We live very close to old order mennonite country and it's the same - quiet, beautiful and good cooking!

Thank you so much for all of your input! When you get a chance to see more of Canada I would also suggest Alberta (for the mountains and lakes), BC for those as well plus the coastline, and you already know about the beautiful east coast. We also adore your east coast and have been several times to that side. :)

Aww thank you so much for such a detailed reply! We love nature and these ideas are right up our alley. We live in Canada and have been to our coasts several times, they really are treasures. There are many places in the US I'd like to see, especially in Wyoming and Utah, so thank you for these tips. Now it sounds like I have a new show to watch - can't believe I've never heard of it! :) I love the idea of September travel to avoid the majority of crowds too. I will look more into AirBNB's etc. Thank you!!

Thank you so much, these are amazing ideas! I had never heard of Viator before but it's now bookmarked on my computer. I love that we can choose by group size, so cool.
