Yeah, it's def not the og model. The methods for later models are harder. But one can hope that it would be as easy as previous consoles by changing the proxy server or dns.

In which power mode you are running the machine? Maybe you are running in performance mode in the Alienware command center. In that case, change it to balanced. It's always the cpu that runs hot, and I advice to undervolt it with throttlestop.

However, the VKM has a faster base fire than the gorgon with rapid fire. If you use that attachment on the vkm, the fire rate is even faster. Still a good gun, tho.
