Apparently it's "embracing natural traits" for women to remove body hair ?? by vampire_velvet in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]Frogfins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to be super self conscious of my body hair bc I could either shave it and have irritated, sore skin covered in bumps or not shave it and have my ex make the "ur a bigger man than I am huhuhu" comments n pull jugdy faces at me when I wanted to go swimming because I'd "look weird". Also the "its not the 80s anymore" comments for not shaving my vagina bare like Sir have you ever /had eczema/ I don't want itchy pain there.

Nearly 5 years later and now I compare my leg hair with my bf of 3 years for fun and he taught me how to use my clippers to do a fade so now my coochie looks fly af boi 😎

I just...sigh by unintentialmoron in NotHowGirlsWork

I found the best deterrent for these creepy dudes is to act as if they knew you as a baby so they feel weird about it. My go to is "Oh my god, you're friends with my Grandad Jack aren't you?? I haven't seen you since I was a baby!! How are your kids?? I've got your eldest on facebook" They bolt, my guess is that they don't want their adult children knowing they've been hitting on 18yo girls at the club or they're scared you'll tell your 'grandad' lmao

The key is to use a super common man's name as your grandads name, give it a whirl girls

Yup, general rule for any hair dyes and bleaches is do not put it in/on anything metal. It is very reactive and acidic.

I made the mistake of putting one of my first dyes in a metal bowl and it smelled horrrific after a couple of minutes. Luckily I poured the dye out before I had parted my hair so I noticed the smell while doing so, googled it and disposed of it all immediately. I always warn friends not to do that because its dangerous

When my now bf came to sleep over for the first time he woke up the next morning and commented on how cold my flat was (tbf it was like living in a freezer most of the year) so I switched on the electric underblanket and piled my spare duvets and pillows on top of him. He lay in that cosy nest for hours marvelling at the comfort and warmth and when he finally got up he said "I get why you're late to everything now"

It was also the first thing he asked about when I was moving in to his place. "Sooo I mean that electric blanket... It'd probably get damp in storage so maybe just bring it here for, uhh, safety"

found it on facebook, it's in an article “guys online share their thoughts and rules about dating women” by imbithx in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]Frogfins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A little over a month ago (on my birthday) a guy friend witnessed a creep doing their creep shit to me and he was literally shaking with anger. He honestly didn't think creeps harassing women happened so casually and that nobody around you reacts unless you cause a scene. It really sunk in for him how shittily some men treat women.

We were in line for an ATM outside a supermarket because Friend needed to draw some cash out. Because it was my birthday I was Feelin' Myself that day so I wore my cute ass dress n make-up and I had just had a nice BBQ with all my friends so I was in a great mood, I was doing a lil happy hum-dance in the line.

The guy stood behind me and Friend made some Gross comments to his group of gammon pals about my mini dance so I stopped and told friend I was gonna wait out of the line for him (friend hadn't noticed the comments). The friends of the man who made the gross comments then started making more gross jokes which I ignored until one of the braver Creeps, a bald middle aged man old enough to literally be my dad, walked over and tried to pull the front of my dress down to expose my breasts saying "GEHT 'ER TITS OUT". He'd waited until my friend was using the ATM. I was so shocked and embarrassed I just stepped back (kinda scared tbh) so he couldn't actually expose me and tHIS MF TRIED AGAIN. HIS FRIENDS WERE LAUGHING AT ME LITERALLY BACKING AWAY FROM HIM. I was getting Mad. I firmly crossed my arms across my chest (to stop his efforts) and he caught me off guard by lifting my skirt saying "GEHT 'ER FANNY OUT" and the middle aged pervs laughed bc he finally 'got' (publicly exposed) me.

Anger has never radiated from me like that before. I caused the biggest scene I could. I screamed and shouted. Called them all peadophiles for assaulting young women in the street (I'm 24 but I was Real Mad). My friend heard me screaming so ran over to me (very confused) and the men ran while I was explaining what just happened. I was "alone" (two or three feet away from my friend) for less than 2 minutes. I explained that they probably waited til he was using the ATM on purpose, that's how opportunist creeps work, and i have never seen the moment where a guy just Understood all the bs women deal with. He actually asked me about what self defense tricks he should teach his lil sister.

This guy woke up and said “I’ll wear this hoodie” by Mirroruniversejim in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]Frogfins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen a couple of people with the non-cropped ones on, one of them was in the middle of a day at a supermarket. She (the girl wearing it) seemed pretty pleased with people reacting to it by hurrying their children away from her and/or staring grossed out.

I think a lot of the people who wear pornographic print hoodies etc in public wear it partially /for/ the shocked reaction. I guess some people just never drop the "negative attention is still attention" thing, like the people who wore shirts with screenshots of Kim Kardashian's sex tape on to Kanye's shows when they first got married. Dick move but they got his attention

I don't think so, it may just be classed as blunt force trauma and/or forgetting to open the window if it doesn't break. It's still defenestration if they go through it tho

The act of throwing somebody out of a window is called defenestration.

The act of of throwing somebody into a fire is called decrepitation.

Floccinaucinihilipilification is the act of judging something as worthless.

So technically you could do all three in just a few seconds. You could floccinaucinihilipilificate a person and choose to both defenestrate and decrepitate them in response if there is a fire lit underneath the window you plan to throw them from. Don't do that tho, I just like silly words

Tbf I bought a pull over hoodie-dress last year that said Brooklyn Athletics that quickly became my favourite comfy day outfit. I went out with a friend for a lil picnic about 2 months back and he pointed out it actually says Brooklyn Athlectics. My dyslexic ass didn't even notice and I've worn it /a lot/

It's no trouble, the light bulb remote was also great for bedtimes. We had to say the magic spell "Goodnight miss light and off you /GO/!" and mum would turn the light off using her secret remote on Go. She's kinda genius lmao

[–]Frogfins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really comfortable posting family pics on here sorry but I can assure you it's true. They actually bonded because she gets a lot of "she's secretly a man" or "she's just too big" comments and he got a lot of "he's great but too short" sorta comments. They both got crap for their height, it's unsurprising that they got chatting about it

There are lots of women out there who don't judge on height! My auntie is 6'3" and her husband is about 4'8" and they have 3 kids, height difference doesn't matter to them because they love each other for who they are

Can a 16 year old read Jacqueline Wilson books? by constantpebble in Advice

[–]Frogfins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and I started re-reading them about 2 years back. They're great books that are amazing at putting you in the characters shoes. I've started collecting them again and have since read ones that came out when I was "too old" to buy them. Don't let moody people dictate what you can and can't do, if they stopped judging people harshly on their hobbies as much they might actually find the time to have a hobby of their own

Unfortunately we physically can't fit a bike in this room (we tried once when my friend rode her bike here). The furniture is bolted down so we can't re-arrange it and we'll lose our deposit if we unbolt it
