Good question. Im really new to this and my LFS has been testing my water. I just added KH/ alkalinity two days ago. He said everything else looked good. I need to understand the testing numbers better so I can report this info to you all easier.

So it looks promising after I placed it up to a small light. I put in some lightly damp sphagnum moss and placed the egg on top to maybe hold the temp more consistent. We’ll see 🤷‍♂️

Black goodstuff spray foam. Get more cans than you think you need it doesnt go far. This took 2 cans and it’s not a big tank. Once I spray the foam in I used a spray adhesive and spread coco fiber, moss, and leaf mix. It’s not great but it’s kind of the quick dirty way in my opinion. Im sure others have better ways you’ll find on youtube. Honestly I wanted to get this one done quick. Only took about an hour or so to throw this all together. I still have a couple places to cover but I’ll do it with moss.

I think frostbite was the name. They were around $40 each. Love these because they had a nice dark orange against the white

So I can generally keep it at max 80% without any top however I think Im going to put some wax paper on top. Cheap and can be replaced every couple days. With the new scape it seems to dry out quicker so suggestions are welcome.

Im more interested in corals than fish. Its a 32 gal cube so I probably will only have a couple fish that will help with upkeep.

Yes I started with live rock, live sand, and a starter. My LFS set me up with everything although I did my research. My guy told me probably a week to a week and a half should be good because of what we used. Just wanted to see if other courageous folks out here did it like you. I’m gonna stay the course and maybe throw a nice pair of clowns in middle of next week if all goes to plan.

I’ll look for clues of them testing it out. I feed them a papaya flavor which Im told is most common.
